| 2016 candidates (Posted on 1/24/13 at 1:34 pm)
Here are my predictions as to who will throw their hat into the race in 2016. I noted my own likelihood of them declaring a run next to their names). I think the Democrat side of the race will be between Hillary and Biden. One of them will run and the other won't but at this point, it's too early to tell which one will back down. I don't think both will run against each other. If I had to place a bet right now, I would say that the nominees will be Paul Ryan on the Republican side and Joe Biden on the Democrat side. Republicans Chris Christie (5%) Newt Gingrich (1%) Mike Huckabee (10%) Bobby Jindal (80%) Paul Ryan (80%) Marco Rubio (90%) Jeb Bush (20%) Rand Paul (50%) Rob Portman (10%) Democrats Hillary Clinton (90%) Joe Biden (90%) Andrew Cuomo (75%) Cory Booker (40%)

I would say that is pretty good odds there. My only quibbles are, you are forgetting some Rs - Matinez, NM governor - Brewer, AZ governor - Jerry Brown - Alan West Probably others Also I think jeb bush's percentages are too high, I doubt he runs. And rand paul is too low. He is running. Good list though.

If Paul Ryan is GOP nominee, Rubio/Jindal or some other non-white person will be VP nominee. They will have a non-white in there somewhere.

I'm thinking the GOP won't run a black guy on the ticket out of fear of "copy catting" the Dems. It will look like a racist political move by a party that's already perceived as being racist. It would be risky. I think Brewer is too far right to run. She will be torn apart by the media. Martinez, though, might be a good pick. I don't know much about Jerry Brown.

Never underestimate how stupid the republican party is. Really, its run by nincompoops.

Yes, this won't stop her from running. The GOP is going to want some minorities on the bill, and she fits the bill. There will be a female candidate.

He might be too old (74) but he can point to "saving" california and he is in pretty good health.

I think this board vastly underestimates Joe Biden. He's knowledgeable on foriegn policy matters, will have eight years of experience as the Vice President, and will have tremendous support from Obama and his supporters. Joe Biden is and will no longer be the same Joe Biden. Sure, he'll still undoubtedly provide us with lots of laughs but the media will be on his side so only conservatives will notice it. I'm telling this board now --- Joe Biden will be a strong candidate.

I'm gonna have to say Mitt Romney vs Hillary. Paul Ryan would probably be a worse candidate than Romney was.

there is absolutely no way mitt wins in 2016, not with what happened last year. And paul ryan would be a worse candidate. No way he wins, just too legislative.

There's nobody on that list that will beat Mitt if he runs; he sucks as a candidate but it's his for the taking. The economy is going to be so bad that he will look like a good candidate. It's all about name recognition (and kissing arse of the powers that be).

i know I was just adding to the list. he is probably too old.

Good one, but I doubt america does the senator route again. I think she would be really formidable in the primaries. I think she is a darkhorse for a VP pick in 2016.
