whip her arse with a piece of seasoned saw briar one time real good, then all you have to do is cut your eyes over at the saw briar and she'll straighten her arse out..

Not always on the instructor.

You sure? The fact that the OP didnt even list govt buildings means its on the instructor. Whaat kind of instructor wouldnt tell you where you couldnt legally carry?

For the record...I haven't taken the class yet. I am debating taking it but wanted to get an idea of these types of areas first. I'm sure the instructor of our local classes will spell all of this out.

No schools.
So GOVT buildings.
No bars.
No polling places.
No parades, I think. Cant remember if this is just OC or CC too.

Its pretty simple, If you arent sure if you can carry there, chances are you cannot. With that being said, you can carry lots of places.

Yes. Louisiana has the most recognized CCL of any state. I cannot remember what states do not recognize my CCL (I know IL, DC, CA do not), however, I do know that all of the gulf/southern states recognize LAs CCL.

Sorry for choppy wording and grammar, on phone.

The wording is strange.

If you are in a parade you can't. But if you're just going to watch one, you're technically in public.

The law about bars and resaurants clearly states class A license establishments are off limits for CC. Chili's reataurant is not a class A place so you can carry outside of the designated bar area which I think is class A. .

You can't be expected to know what percentage of their sales comes from alcohol. You just have to inquire about the license, (which is given based on percentage of sales).

Thanks! And to go one step further:

Prohibited Locations

R.S. 40:1379.3 (N) states that no concealed handgun may be carried into and no concealed handgun permit issued pursuant to this Section shall authorize or entitle a permittee to carry a concealed handgun in any of the following:

A detention facility, prison, or jail;

A courthouse or courtroom, provided that a judge may carry such a weapon in his own courtroom;

A polling place;

A meeting place of the governing authority of a political subdivision;

The state capitol building;

Any portion of an airport facility where the carrying of firearms is prohibited under federal law, except that no person shall be prohibited from carrying any legal firearm into the terminal, if the firearm is encased for shipment, for the purpose of checking such firearm as lawful baggage;

Any church, synagogue, mosque or similar place of worship;

A parade or demonstration for which a permit is issued by a governmental entity;

Any portion of the permitted area of an establishment that has been granted a Class A-General retail permit, as defined in Part II of Chapter 1 or Part II of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises.

Any school "firearm free zone" as defined in R.S. 14:95.6.

The provisions of R.S. 40:1379.3 (N) shall not limit the right of a property owner, lessee, or other lawful custodian to prohibit or restrict access of those persons possessing a concealed handgun pursuant to a permit issued under this Section. No individual to whom a concealed handgun permit is issued may carry such concealed handgun into the private residence of another without first receiving the consent of that person.

This is incorrect. Catholic is a no but not all others. Ive heard lately of a lot of churches asking members with CC permit to carry. Seems I remember some require special training or something though.

-Churches, Synagogues and Mosques choosing to allow concealed carry will have to inform their congregations of the decision.
- Anyone wishing to carry a concealed weapon in a church will have to take an extra eight hours of tactical training each year.
- The new law does not apply to churches on school property.
