How does a bar with a bunch of old arcade cabinets attract the dude-bros? Don't they have Jax to go to? Such a shame.

The Ohm Lounge (connected to Barcadia) was open Saturday night. That was attracting a different crowd I believe.

By the time I got there, only a few remained, but here was the tagline on the advertisement

"Calling all Beautiful Hot Girls! The FINAL casting call for "The Maxim Party" Feb 2nd is this Tuesday at Barcadia in New Orleans! This is your final chance to impress us in person! Come dressed to impress in a tight fitting two piece outfit!"

about equal to everything else down here if you want a burger

Lucy's $9
Ernst $11
Red Eye $9
Walkons $9-$10
Gordon Biersch $10-11
Capdeville $11-12

The Store $8-9, no side

I had it once and it was horrible. It was a worser tasting Burger King/Rally's clone

recently? I had one about a month ago and thought it was good, definitely not BK/Rally's bad. Must have been a different burger. I agree on the rest of your assessment though. Lucy's burger is awful.

You've got that right. When I went it was a bunch of guys making out.

The other areas were packed and there was a wait to get in. I was not that impressed. Maybe once the newness wears off it will be a more laid back crowd.

was like a few months ago. It was very bland and I had to load it up with condiments to eat it

probably the worst I've ever eaten. Was completely inedible even with condiments poured on it

What kind of crowd is Barcadia trying to attract? Arcade games in the Warehouse District? Is it bar games a la Half Moon?

Never tried the burger, but the two food experiences I've had at Gordon Biersch have been pretty awful.

I had an alright time but I was busying playing games and didn't move around too much. Getting a drink was aggravating as frick!

paid not attention to that

no idea but it's kinda like an upscale Shamrock you could say. It's old school arcade games along with foosball, air hockey, skee ball, and the crowd favorite punching bag game

not that I'm aware of

it's the best burger in New Orleans IMO and I've been to a ton of places

as far as the lighting, i thought it was dark. but who knows. I think it is prob a better place to check out during the week

I'd like to check it out during the week also. It's a place I could grow to love sans the big crowd

I went to Barcadia on Friday night, early before the parades pased downtown, maybe around 8:30. The crowd was light and mostly in their 30's. I had some stout beer which was a little too strong for my liking and then a Pabst Blue Ribbons on tap.

The arcade games are very nostolgic for me and I loved them, but I wondered if the younger crowd gives a crap about Joust, Galaga, and Ms. Pacman, etc. No one was really playing them. I put a dollar into the Joust machine and had a grand old time until my wrist gave out from slapping the flap button!

The music was mostly 80's stuff and I was happier about that than Eddie Money working at a travel agency!

HOWEVER, we went out to look at the parades and returned around 10:30. By that time, the crowd had gotten much thicker, and it was mostly 20 somethings with the spiked hair and conspicuous tatoos. The 80's music was gone, and they were playing modern hiphop and R&B. So it went from great to sucky in a very short span.

I work very near there, so I will definitely check it out again for lunch and happy hour, but the late night scene there is probably not for someone my age.

I'm not 30 and I think that kind of crowd sucks.
