Firestone Walker to Texas

quote:

Distribution will begin with Brown Distributing starting on February 19 in the greater Austin area, followed by Andrews Distributing on March 18 across the Dallas-Ft. Worth region, including Arlington, Irving, Plano, Allen, Frisco and Garland....

Beers to be launched in both package and draft include DBA (English Style Pale Ale), Pale 31 (California Pale Ale) and Union Jack (India Pale Ale), as well as Wookey Jack, Double Jack and Walker’s Reserve from the brewery’s Proprietor’s Reserve series.

Fired up that they are bringing the Proprietor’s Reserve series. Hopefully this means TX will get Sucaba, Parabola, and DDBA when they are released.

I really don't mess with shipping or trading. I certainly see the advantages but can't justify it at the moment. My splurges come when I go out of town or a trip to Calandro's.

Yes Austin is real trendy and hipster homeland and what not and everyone wears flip flops and is all Techy and what not....not my cup of tea

S14, I agree, we have way too many great beer options here on the shelves to be ordering crap and paying 4x the value online/shipping...I agree its fun to splurge when you travel and that is part of the fun..the thrill of the hunt

bottom line is outside of a few exceptions most of the stuff you can get here tastes the same style for style with stuff you can't get here (for hte most part). take the labels off and most won't be able to tell the difference...

Right, but I've had Double Jack and I've had Wooky Jack and they're great.

We don't have a DIPA in LA that's like that. Ruination 10th was a good alternative while we had it.
We also don't have a black Rye IPA in LA. I buy Tommyknocker's Black Rye IPA when I'm in MS but it's really not the same.
