A buddy and I are hitting the Duke game Thursday night and the UNC game on Saturday. Anyone have any must dos while at the two schools?
Oh, and if anyone could comment on how difficult it would be to buy nosebleed tickets and then slip down into the student section at UNC, that would be helpful

I was at the UNC/Michigan game in Nola. That's about it. I plan on going to a UNC game at the hill before I die. I would prefer it to be a duke/UNC game.

Been to Duke. Check out Kville right outside Cameron. And must visit the Chapel.

I've seen both teams play numerous times, just never in their own arenas. Will you be wearing each school's attire?

No, but I will. My dad said the atmosphere is like no other.

I can imagine watching a game at Cameron has got to be pretty cool. Chapel hill...meh. I would actually rather see a game at Fog Allen more than Chapel Hill.

I don't own anything from either school, but I'll do my best to blend in.

Seen UNC in Birmingham Regional. Plan on going to Birmingham next year to see them play. Want to go to Chapel Hill though.

I have been to a few games in the Dean Dome. One thing I love about it is that it seats almost 22,000 but there isn't a bad seat in the house. It isn't hard to sneak into the upper deck student sections but really hard to sneak into the lower-level ones.

Duke- I'd get there a few hours early, park by Cameron and just walk the campus. Durham is a shite hole so the school is the only thing worth checking out but the scenery, architecture, etc make one of the nicest campuses you'll see. Obviously everyone usually stops by the chapel.
UNC- Franklin street is pretty awesome, especially before and after a game. He's Not Here is a cool bar that is behind the strip, cheap beer, yard games and a really good atmosphere. Top of the Hill is a second story restaurant with a good view of the street and they brew some good beers (just grab a beer, the food is a little pricey and average). Keys and some UNC students can give you a better rundown, I haven't been back in a few years.
eta: and go to cook out

Franklin St is a must. Go to Timeout... they have the best
Chicken biscuits around. Check out the well, and old Carmichael.

Top of the Hill in Chapel Hill has some pretty good beers, but I agree the food is average. I've only ever been for Wake-UNC games, but they were always a good time. Franklin Street is fun if you hit it at the right time.
Been to Duke's campus many times, but never to a basketball game.

I looked up tickets a few weeks back and Cameron starts at aroun $600 a game, per!

it's either allen fieldhouse or "the phog" and yes of course that would be cooler since it's the best place in the country.
i dont have any actual advice but i assume getting tickets to duke games is just as easy as ever!

Stay at Duke Millenium. It's where the visiting team stays and also where the parents of both stay. Had breakfast with Paulus family there when I went.

Yeah, the Millenium is a decently priced hotel. When I was in the dorms, my parents stayed there on Parents' Weekend. Durham is better now than a decade ago, but it still isn't anything special. Some great restaurants though within 10 minutes of campus like Parizade and Four Square if you're a foodie.
Nasher Museum of Art is pretty impressive for a college museum. I think it opened in 2005. As for the game, I think you need a pass to park on Towerview. It might actually be easier to just take a cab to the game if you don't have a parking pass. Surprisingly there are tons of cabs in the area so it shouldn't be a big delay.
I think this is the first home game in almost a month when school's in session so there should be a good atmosphere. I think the first part of K-Ville will be set up so there will be 40-50 tents at most. In about 3 weeks, that number should double. And if you happen to know any world-class doctors who can treat Ryan Kelly's foot, please pass along that information to the Duke AD's office.
