Mett needs to stop worrying about trying to set a trend in facial hair and get his butt in the gym(working on weights and footwork)and also hit the field with anyone who MIGHT be a reciever at LSU next year and work on getting chemistry with the recievers. Hell call ex pro Qbs to come work with Mett and the rest of the Qbs.
Oh and someone call Josh Reed to show these guys how to find holes in zones,he was a beast.
Hopefully next year when we play a team like Whatsamata U instead of RUNNING we practice PASSING. I really think if Mett would have gotten alot more work at passing early in the season we might have been alright. I know its hindsight, but damn with the defense we had this year any help from the offense we might have been in the NC game. Even with our crappy offense I still think we would have pounded the Irish.

Number 1 priority for spring is to get that damn O Line in good shape, and work on technique .

Getting Miles to let his OC do the job he was hired for and stop messing with the offense. But....Miles will never do this.look for ANOTHER year of bad play calling and NOT getting the best out of all the talent this offense has.

and stop messing with the offense
LSU could/would dominate, IF he stays with what works.
1) Clemson ... What was working? Jeremy Hill 10+yrds/carry 100+ yrds Running eats up clock and dictates we control pace ot this particular game.
.............. What was not working? Pass offense. Too many sacks. Too many 3 and keeping our defense on the field and allowing Clemson to run 100+ plays.
.............. My take - CLM could have easily allowed LSU to dominate the game with a great 2nd half return and JH run from scrimmage for TD. More than 1 in our party claimed right then and there, JH was not going to see the field the rest of the game, but JH came in for an injured Ware on the next series and after JH was pulled, out went LSU's dominance of the game.

2 Penn St....What was working? Trindon Holiday..Only player on the field getting traction on sloppy field..Limited offensive plays and punt return, TH was feeling it. While LSU's offense was struggling in 4th qrt, camera shots kept showing an anxious TH ready for action that he was nevered allowed to have.
............ Everything that wasn't TH
............ My take.... CLM and Gary Crowton just simply didn't recognize how valuable TH was. Didn't recognize his low center of gravity in those conditions and didn't recognize TH's enthusiansm on his last 2 plays. Big time fail on our offensive minds.

3.) BCSNC game... What was working...Absolutely nothing on offense, can't fault the defense
................. What was not working...Our coaches inabilty to adjust.
............... My take. An LSU team that could have an argument for the BEST COLLEGE FB TEAM OF ALL TIME was sabatage, both before and during the game.

4.) 2007 UK .... What was working? Charles Scott..LSU needed a spark offensively and CS was that spark.
................ What was not working? Jacob Hester had a bad game and UK was keying on him.
............... My take. A game that LSU let get away with not sticking what was working. CS simply did not see the field most of the game until the 3rd OT and a bad official call in one of the OTs that went in UK's favor that prevented LSU from winning.

Other games could be mentioned as examples, but one common denominator - CLM shys away from what works in favor of what does not work in many of LSU's losses. Why? Would love to hear your take on this flaw of Miles. Here could be some reasons to this flaw.

1) Knowing he has an Ace in his pocket, shelves it until needed while experimenting with the struggles until it works, then later comes with his ace, too late, too often.

2) Does not want to dominate a team, for what ever reason.

3) Simply wants a close game where he is confident he could win late.

4) Point shaving or point spread. I know, but has to be listed as a reason.

5) Simply just don't get it.

He needs to get his arse in the gym and start running lines so he can get his quickness up. His running and evasiveness is too slow to be successful at this level or the next. When you cant scramble and get 2-3 yds when the coverage is too tight then you are sunk...

4/8 Miles led LSU teams are top 10 in FBS Margin of Victory.

guys If CLM refuses to hire a new OC and improve his horrible offense then reality will hit him and positigers in the face after TCU game.

Without a revamped offensive system and Miles coaching we lose 4-5 the next couple years.

I rewatched the Clemson game and we didn't run with consistency. Mainly, because Clemson started putting 8 or 9 guys in the box. We should have tried running the ball from more 3 WR sets instead of the pro-I. Every time we went to the I-formation, they stacked the box. And the passing game never did enough to change Clemson's approach. Our offense is too predictable and we don't execute anything very well. This all has to do with coaching.

1. Practice - obviously our practices are not doing enough to prepare us for the games. As a teacher, if my students are all failing the tests, then I have to change what we are during in class.

2. Philosophy - the offense as a whole needs to be scrapped. We are too predictable and we don't have any structure. What is our identity? We can't just try to play bull ball. People stack the box and then we can't answer with an effective passing game.

3. OC/OL - we have a great DC. Can we say the same about our OC and OL coach. Also, Miles has to let his OC be the HC of the offense. Five years of the same crappy offense is enough.

1). Devise plays to involve TE and RB more into passing game
2). Make major point to get Rettig or Jennings ready to be involved in the offense.
3). Make effort to involve more motion in offense.
4). Utilize Mett in pistol formation for run and pass
5). Evaluate the entire 2012 season for tendencies and break them.
6). Hire new OC or get outside evaluation and input.
7). Less hitting and scrimmages in practice as season starts.
8). Work smarter as well. Harder.

Freakin' this! Use these games for practice, but remember how much trouble they had with Towson State!

That needs to be the first offensive change of the off-season. Move STUDRAWA back to OL full time.
