he will go to NBCSN or CBSSN, slowly build back his rep, and then say something stupid to get fired again.

They probably asked him to take that stand. He may have spiced it up but they likely knew prior to the show.

He said all the same things in the pre-show run down. ESPN tacitly condoned what he said by allowing it to re-air and then making it available online. Only after huge backlash was he let go.

ESPN basically orchestrated the controversy and let him take the fall.

Never in history has any white person ever had this exact situation happen to them, right?

i don't understand how Stephan A Smith can say "n***a please" and not get as much as a suspension while Rob Parker makes a few comments and gets fired

i get that one could be perceived as worse, but it's a bit extreme.

he is awful, though. but he will get a job elsewhere.

That guy sucks. He is an idiot and a pot-stirrer (like several other "personalities" on ESPN).

I agree that ESPN probably tacitly encouraged or at least didn't oppose his remarks until the backlash.

I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. I think the guy sucks and should have been fired.

I'm only commenting on what went down in this situation. He was told it was ok to say certain things, then fired for actually saying them.

the producers knew what he was going to say

that show is all but scripted and planned in meetings beforehand

if it was that big of a deal, it should have never been approved. the person who approved it should be the one taking the heat, not the lackey parker

Got it. I haven't followed the story that closely and I can accurately say I've never seen FirstTake.

What would have happened if Skip Bayless said cornball? Instant raise?
