Why LSU (And Other Major SEC Players) Will NOT Win An SEC/BCS Title in 2013

This post has nothing to do with Miles. Please don't turn it into this. This is directly related to the current SYSTEM in place that LSU and other SEC schools have to compete with in order to attain an SEC title, and in turn, a national title....except for Bama. They don't have to win the SEC. It's not needed.

I'm tired of post after post here of LSU bowing down to the might "Gods" at Bama. Actually, I view it as just the opposite.

I remember, like many LSU fans, that we DID beat them in 2010 and 2011, and came very close in 2008 and 2009 as well with Miles' worst teams.

Like most fans that don't drink the Saban/Bama/SEC/ESPN kool aid, I'm aware that Bama has had many things fall in their favor, by design, to get them where they are:

1) Favorable conference scheduling thanks to a Bama alum
2) Favorable officiating thanks to a Bama alum
3) Second chances, thanks to favorable media coverage (2011)
4) A "second chance" in 2012 again thanks to factors 1 and 2 above. (Same can technically be said for UGA as well in 2012).

With all that in mind, I'm simply going with the "process" of how CFB works.

Factor in points 1 and 2 above again for 2013 and I don't see how Bama CAN'T win another one. They have successfully pushed the system in their favor through money and influence. More power to them. As much as they, as a program, have invested in football, they SHOULD win it nearly every season with the accomodations above. I just don't see how they can lose it, honestly.

For those of you who say stupid shite like "well, beat them and it takes care of itself", all you are doing is giving them a week off and making their schedule easier for the rematch.

LSU, along with several other top SEC contenders are screwed for years to come with this system. That's why I'm saving my money from here on out. The game is rigged. Be happy with a random BCS bowl appearance here and there, because under this system, this is what LSU, along with other top SEC contenders, will be lucky to get.

I will still enjoy it, however, simply because I love LSU football. I'll still watch (at home) but I know what we are up against.

I think once many fans here are able to accept this, it will make your lives that much easier. At least I hope it will.

I've lit the fire, now I'll walk away...

Seems like a conspiracy theory, but when you look at everything it certainly makes sense.

You don't know me and have never read my posts, apparently. It is just the opposite.

I LOVE being an LSU alum and fan. If I wanted to be a Bama fan and cling on to football wins, I would have gotten two post graduate degrees from there instead of LSU.

I'm proud of my school and the team. I'm just what you would call "situationally aware".

This is what LSU and other SEC teams are up against annually. LSU is not alone. The "toughest conference in America" is literally compromised.

That's why I laughed at the aTm fans who were rejoicing leaving the Big 12 bc of the "Longhorn Network". They have no clue what they've run into.

Fortunately, outside of football, Bama has nothing. As an LSU fan, my "fandom" doesn't end in January. It goes all year around. We have a men's BB program that is on the rise, a baseball team that is always competitve, and solid women's sports as well.

I'll just save my money for those things in the future.

Outside of tamu and us bama schedule is pretty weak. I could see them with 1 loss next year.

How did scheduling play into Bama success in 11' and 12'?? What officiating caused their success both years?? Were they not the second best team at the end of the regular season last year?? We both had almost 4 weeks to prepare for the game on Jan 9. We had them beat this year. At HOME. Please please get off the Bama favoritism kick. The BCS started in what 1998, and it took Bama till 2009 to reap the benefits of this rigged system?? We sound like Saints fans during the 49er glory years. Let it go man!!!

THE Ohio State University will be in the BCS championship game next year as they have an easy schedule. Their toughest game is Michigan. Won't be 2 SEC teams in it. Whoever wins the SEC plays them. Bama won't sneak in like 2011. All we have to do is win. Me personally, I like having a tough schedule. Makes it all the more sweeter when we win.

How did the alum influence Le's play calling in the Bama game and late defensive breakdown?

You serious with this question?

Bama beat THREE teams with a winning record in the entire 2011 regular season and still got a mulligan.

In 2012, both Bama and UGA avoided the top three teams from the opposite division in order to make the defacto "playoff game" to play ND.

An easy schedule helps a lot.

UF played FOUR top 12 teams, and bc of it, had to sit out of the SECCG.

Go watch a Barrett Jones highlight reel (just one example) and get back to me.

No, they weren't. And they had five weeks, thanks to their week off for begging.

So? We beat them last year at their place. What good did it do?

Despute the points I made in the OP.

Oh. I see. You can't read. This thread is about the SEC, not the BCS. Although you could add 2011 and the BCS to this, yes...

Maybe our o - line should learn their techniques?

Then fans here (like you, who always bashes Miles) would be pissed when LSU would inevitably be called for holding about 10 times a game.

Now you are getting where I'm coming from..

Don't worry. The CFB media will see to it that this happens once that awesome "playoff" starts that everyone is so excited about. You haven't seen anything yet...

Yes. We HAVE to win the SEC in order to have a shot at the crystal...LSU can't do it without winning in Atlanta in December. As a fan, I know this already.

And I agree 100% with this as well. But I'm also aware of what a hard schedule does for one team, while their top rival can sit back and take it easy all year.

It is much more difficult to prep for four to five big games a year than one or two....
