So there. Again, you beat THREE FBS teams with a winning record in the regular season, finished third in the SEC, and still got a mulligan.

Then your anger should be directed at the pollsters, not the SEC or Alabama. At any point at the end of last season, the voters could have said "Well, Bama is a good team, but they really only beat 3 teams with a winning record. Therefore, I think Oklahoma St. is a more deserving #2" The fact is, the voters didn't see it that way, so Alabama played in the BCSNCG.

Again, how does anyone else compete with this?

Win the games on your schedule

All OSU had to do last year was beat Iowa St., and Bama doesn't play in the NCG.

If LSU beats Bama this year, then Bama doesn't make the SECCG.

Oregon just had to beat Stanford.....but they didn't.

Poor UF, they played a brutal schedule. Lost only 1 game (like Bama). Yet they really never had a shot at the BCSNCG. How do we fix this travesty? Beat Georgia!!

In 2007, Kansas only had ONE loss (to a top 10 Mizzou team). Yet a TWO loss LSU team (one of those being to unranked Ark.) made the BCSNCG.

Don't worry. The CFB media will see to it that this happens once that awesome "playoff" starts that everyone is so excited about. You haven't seen anything yet...

x1000...back to the 60's and 70's. The BCS was the best thing ever for LSU. Now's it's up the the media!

"Anger"? How many times do I have to post this: I'm not angry. Honestly, this cracks me up. It's a farce to the Nth degree.

CFB is a beauty contest that's all about ratings. Bama brings ratings. Period. OSU (Oklahoma State, not Ohio State) doesn't. End of story.

So this holds true for some teams and not others?

And all Bama had to do was...

Oh wait. I forget. You, along with other posters, national media, etc, have all bought into the fact that some programs HAVE to win all their games while others don't. Why the obvious double standard?

quote:

If LSU beats Bama this year, then Bama doesn't make the SECCG.

Agreed. Which is why I stated earlier in this thread (or may have been another one) that LSU's world isn't collapsing. LSU, depsite the injuries, suspensions, schedule that was twice as hard as Bama's (by design), still was a few plays away from making the SECCG.

My point is, that is difficult to do year in and year out. That's the whole point of the OP. Next year it will be tougher as Bama's already rediculously easy schedule gets even easier. This is all I'm saying.

Interesting post.....BUT.....LSU should have won the National Championship last year as well as this year! We clearly had the quality teams! And this year we managed to "urinate away" 3 games that easily could and should have been won-even with all the injuries.
But we won neither year!! Why? TOTAL Lack of mental prepardness, which is the responsibility of the coaching staff, and also because of Miles offensive coaching philosophy, and his lack of control over his players with all the player rule violations year in and year out!! You won't see much of that type of crap with Saban's players!

I am a devout LSU fan-maybe too much so that I have become too critical!
The FACT remains...we should have won both years!!!
I personally do not think that Miles still has the "INTENSITY" and "drive" to win another National Championship! He has a very good overall program-but the desire is gone.

If LSU and UA switched SEC East opponents this past year I think our records would be reversed and we'd be playing ND tonight. Next year we get UF and UGa and they get UT and UK. Something aint right.

Thus the point of the OP.

Glad someone is getting it.

Honestly, I expect nothing less from the program. What sickens me was how the hit occurred and the fact that an "honest" SEC ref was five feet from it, watched it happen, and did nothing. It reminded me a lot of the Dorsey chop block. Same deal. The possibility of a severe injury to a 20yo kid, with nothing done about it in order to support an agenda.

So what agenda did the SEC have when they let it slide against LSU? There wasn't one. This just happens to fall against a team you claim the SEC favors so you use it in an argument. If it had been ANY other team in the SEC you wouldn't have even brought it up.
You people spend way too much time on Alabama for it to be healthy. Sports are supposed to bring you enjoyment. You seem awfully angry.

I think what this guy is saying is that only Bama will win. Forever and always, so it is said, so it shall be.

How did the alum influence Le's play calling in the Bama game

The play calling that got us 435 yards of offense? I'm not buying the conspiracy about Bama, but 435 yards of offense will win us most games.

LSU and Auburn gets screwed the most by Alabama, but the rest of the SEC will wake up to this realization soon enough. Hopefully by then, the other member schools will unite and move the offices, the officers and the officials out of Birmingham.

1) Favorable conference scheduling thanks to a Bama alum
2) Favorable officiating thanks to a Bama alum
3) Second chances, thanks to favorable media coverage (2011)
4) A "second chance" in 2012 again thanks to factors 1 and 2 above. (Same can technically be said for UGA as well in 2012).

OP sounds like a loser. Who else you gonna blame?

Personally, I choose to believe John Chavis as to Miles' drive and intensity. Chavis has said on numerous occasions the Miles is the most intense and driven coach he has ever been around.
