Ok, who was Floridas loss to this year?? And if we beat Bama at home, we are playing GA. Last year, we went undefeated to the NC game. So you wanted and easier opponent in the NC game, not the best matchup. As for the Barrett Jones comment, what LSUhighlight reel have you reviewed?? On my other comment, and yes I have two graduate degrees from LSU also, I can read and if Bama is benefitting from the rigged SEC, why did it just coincide with Saban arriving that they are able to use tha benefit to catapult to BCS championships?? This pissing and moaning is not doing this school any favors.

Oh I forgot they get away with holding. They called a penalty on them in the TAMU game that ended the game and they lost.

Also this system is how a 2 loss team entered the bcs title.

Nope Hurricane, only Bama is lucky. We needed Pitt to beat WV in 07, which is a sign of how good our team was that year. Wish we were lucky like Bama

Alabama is a good program, but it also helps they got friends in the SEC office. I still think it stinks that Saban was a guest on the SEC Championship game politicing for Bama to be in the National Championship game.

You don't know me and have never read my posts, apparently. It is just the opposite.

I LOVE being an LSU alum and fan. If I wanted to be a Bama fan and cling on to football wins, I would have gotten two post graduate degrees from there instead of LSU.

I'm proud of my school and the team. I'm just what you would call "situationally aware".

This is what LSU and other SEC teams are up against annually. LSU is not alone. The "toughest conference in America" is literally compromised.

That's why I laughed at the aTm fans who were rejoicing leaving the Big 12 bc of the "Longhorn Network". They have no clue what they've run into.

Fortunately, outside of football, Bama has nothing. As an LSU fan, my "fandom" doesn't end in January. It goes all year around. We have a men's BB program that is on the rise, a baseball team that is always competitve, and solid women's sports as well.

I'll just save my money for those things in the future.
I don't have to know you to see that you are very upset with (aka butt hurt) bama winning. Fact: LSU wins against Bama and we play in SEC title game.

Then this thread never exists...or list UGA instead.

Regardless of whether the system is rigged/favortism by officials/etc etc, the Barrett Jones statement is definetly true.
Go back and watch his games, especially against A&M and Miss State, he should have been flagged a dozen times in each game.
Some players apparently don't get flagged, for one reason or another..

Agreed. LSU was lucky to get into the BCSCG with two losses.

What did LSU have to do in order to get into the game that year?

UF lost to UGA, who had the second easiest SEC schedule behind Bama.

You don't find this to be a major coincidence? The two top teams with the two easiest SEC schedules made the SECCG. Who could have seen this coming?!?!

quote:

And if we beat Bama at home, we are playing GA.

And you make a great point! Despite the fact that our schedule was twice as hard as Bama's, we still almost got there. But since Miles sucks and Saban is God...

So you wanted and easier opponent in the NC game, not the best matchup.

As a fan who once paid 3K+ for regular season games in a system where "every game counts", I wanted the regular season and winning the conference to count for something. Thanks to 2011 and the looming playoff, it doesn't any more. OSU was jobbed. Simple as that.

As for the Barrett Jones comment, what LSUhighlight reel have you reviewed??

What do you mean? My point is BJ is literally allowed to hold almost every play..

I can read and if Bama is benefitting from the rigged SEC, why did it just coincide with Saban arriving that they are able to use tha benefit to catapult to BCS championships??

Perfect storm of events. More power to Bama.

This pissing and moaning is not doing this school any favors.

Laying out the facts about the system is not "pissing and moaning". I'm just being a realist.

Has a Bama alumni not made their SEC schedule easier the past few years and next year?

Yes. That is a fact. Deal with it.

Is a Bama alumni in charge of SEC officials? Yes. Does this help Bama somehow not be called for holding for years, or called for other minor infractions like obvious illegal headhunting of the oppositions QB while a ref is five feet from the play?

Yes, this is a fact. Deal with it.

Pointing out facts isn't whining.

I live in a nice house, and I drive a nice vehicle. Those two things aren't whining. They too are facts.

What is so odd is how irrelevant Bama was during the first 10 years of the BCS era. I'm in my early 20s and I grew up hating/fearing Florida and Auburn more than Alabama. But now with Saban they all of a sudden rule the world........of college football.

Nah. I've sat in the stadium and watched LSU beat Bama several times in several different sports. Could care less.

I'm tired of this place being a constant "Bash Miles/Suck Saban's Cock" fest. I'm just bringing some balance and annoying the Saban lovers too.

Like I said, you don't know me, nor do you know how many times I LOL when I'm typing this stuff.

I won't dispute this.

Nah. I would have made the point that UF got screwed bc of UGA's favorable schedule. It's part of the "system" that is CFB.

PS - I think we would have lost to UGA in the SECCG this year had we beat Bama. Don't tell anyone, but Murry would have thrown for nearly 400 yards on our defense...

You serious with this question?

Are you serious with your boo-hooing in the OP?

quote:

Bama beat THREE teams with a winning record in the entire 2011 regular season and still got a mulligan.

You're right. Their schedule was nothing to write home about, but the pollsters and computers put them in the BCSNCG. Blame the voters for not taking their schedule into account. Fact is, regardless of their schedule, they don't play in the game unless the pollsters put them there.

quote:

In 2012, both Bama and UGA avoided the top three teams from the opposite division in order to make the defacto "playoff game" to play ND.

And if LSU beats Alabama, they make the defacto playoff game regardless of who had the "easier" schedule.

quote:

UF played FOUR top 12 teams, and bc of it, had to sit out of the SECCG.

I thought it was because they lost to UGA? Might be wrong on that one. I'll run a google search.

I love this argument. A 2 loss team had to go seeing as osu was the only 1 loss team from a bcs conference.

Again a 2 loss team was going regardless if it was LSU or not.

I agree with all of your post - except for the staying home part. I will always buy LSU football tickets. But yes, the system is not favorable for LSU. ESPN isn't helping either.
