| Wheel of Time - A Memory of Light (Posted on 12/29/12 at 7:09 pm)
The finale of the WOT series is hitting the shelves in January. I've read a mini prequel of it and was floored. I tore through the 200-ish pages in record time. Anyone else excited (and a bit saddened) about this ending coming?

I am both excited and saddened. I first started the series in 1998 after book 6 was completed. I have read most books in the series 3 or 4 times over the last 14 years. My favorite series of all time. I am taking a couple of days off of work when it comes out to finish it without distractions. Should be epic.

I started reading these in middle school. I'm about to be 32. I have about 20 years invested in these books, but I have not read the last 4. As I stated in another thread, I've pretty much given up on epic fantasy. The only series I'm remotely interested in in the Kingkiller Chronicles, but it does not read like typical epic fantasy.

He should. There's really no way someone that powerful can be allowed to live.

I have read since the first one was published and I am saddened, yet relieved at the same time. It has been a long time coming and I'm ready for Rand to break the world and have the wheel start again with another Dragon reborn.

I started these books around 1995. Was really into them through 5. I put 5 down 3/4 of the way through and never picked them up again. SO DAMN LONG.

read the series since in middle school and have reread it many times- I have all the faith this story will be resolved in a manner Jordan wanted since he already had it outlined extensively. I have been waiting for this book for 15 years and I am so excited to resolve this universe

I read part of the prologue, a Mat chapter, and I think part of chapter 2. All that was available for free. The prologue is available now for like $4, not doing that and didn't really look into the torrents for it either. Where did you read 200 pages? What was the mini prequel?

Loved this series before getting burned out on it. May reread it someday if the finale gets good reviews.

Got it from the Nook store. It was a chapter about Talmanes, the dragons (small d), and Caemlyn.

this but I started them sophomore year at LSU. I tried to read book 11, and didn't know what the frick was going on. so I put it down. I don't plan on reading it unless my brother says its that good. But he likes shitty books, so I might not even trust him.

The finale is actually the last three books (including the one released today). All 3 are thick enough to stop bullets and are phenomenal reads (at least the first 2, haven't read the 3rd... yet ;) )

Since Sanderson took over the story has really been flying along. Jordan at his best was a better writer, but Tarmon Gaidon is long overdue.

definitely. the story really ground to a halt for several books, while Jordan worked to get the final pieces in place. But books 12 and 13 have been fantastic.
