I know they are assholes on here and the Internet in general, does anyone care to share stories about any real life experiences?

My neighbor graduated from Clemson. He's an engineer at Lockheed. Pretty good guy.
ETA: He's a season ticket holder. I asked him if he was going to the game and he said - No. I have no interest in going watch us get blown out.

I'm not sure you can generalize that way.

South Carolinians as a whole are pretty decent people. Almost went to Clemson instead of LSU for their architecture program. The in state Clemson fans aren't too obnoxious. They've got nothing on Auburn when it comes to the a-hole department.

From ages 7-11, I was molested by my best friend's dad. Sometimes he did it in his rec room, other times while on camping trips. I'm pretty sure he was a Clemson alum because he was always wearing a Clemson Tigers hat and tee shirt while he diddled me. (I think he was self-conscious about his weight or body hair or something.)

I worked with a few Engineers in Savannah, GA who are Clemson graduates. They are very knowlegable fans and some raelly good guys. They are nothing like Savage Tiger (What a moron!) and alot of the other Clemson idiots yousee posting on Tigerdroppings.

They have a shite ton of militant hillbilly "fans" that will throw batteries and piss bombs. Most of the people that actually went to school there are decent people though.

I used to bang one when I lived in DC apparently Clemson is such a dump all the girls can do to pass the time is frick so they all became sluts.

Cousin married a Clemson grad. Nice guy but not going to the game even though they live near ATL. Said, " y'all are going to kill us. I don't want to go"

My dad, brothers, future wife, and myself went to see LSU - Clemson at the Peach Bowl in '96. While on the MARTA headed to the GA Dome, I hear a dude cussing my younger brother out. I turned to him and told him to cool it or he would have to deal with me. He informed me that when we got off the train he was going to kick my arse. I told him I'd be waiting for him. When the train stopped at the GA Dome stop, I stepped off the train, turned to him and told him to come on. He muttered something about "this wasn't his stop", the doors closed and he continued you on to wherever. He had Clemson gear on...it had to be his stop!! What a puss! Typical Clemson fan! All talk, nothing to show for it!!!

My neighbor growing up went to Clemson. He was like 5 or so years older than me so I haven't talked to him in a long time. This is my only experience with the Clemson folk.

I encountered a few @ the CWS in '03. One teen-ager in full prison-orange muttered "LSU sucks" as he passed me, w/ his parents walking right along w/ him. I guess he didn't notice that his team wasn't even playing in the CWS that yr.

Re-Post, but 1996 Peach Bowl, wife surprisingly allows me to accompany my friends to Cheetah 3 while she went shopping.
$10 and the top comes off, another $10 and the rest comes off. Clemson fans next to us dropped a $20 every time a dancer came on stage.
We therefore love Clemson fans.

Like any fan base, there are some good ones and some bad ones. Mostly bad ones imho.
For instance, this past November while we were busy kicking their asses up in their stadium, their fans were flipping birds to camera crews and throwing beer bottles on the field during the game.
They are well-known for throwing stuff on the field during games to disrupt play. They take great pride in doing-so and have developed it into somewhat of an art form.
They are delusional insomuch as they honestly believe they could enter into the SEC on any given day on any year and instantly become a Top 4 SEC program in football, and Top 2 or 3 in baseball.
I've got some good Clemson friends, but we do not talk the week of our game because we do not get along during that week, and usually the week after.
They are pathological living-in-the-past dwellers LINK. And oh yes, their fans that you run into in Atlanta are going to talk shite, so prepare yourself. You're going to hear things like, "we're the original Death Valley Tiger Stadium - you stole it from us," and "prepare to have your asses whooped by the ACC tonight," etc., etc., etc.
I'm really hoping that you don't just beat them, but you lay a woodshed type beatin' on 'em.
I've predicted, if Les Miles is smart, he'll run-up at least 500 yds of total offense on 'em and you'll send two or three of their skill players on offense to the locker room early like we did.

I played golf on the SC coast with some Clemson guys. They were big Clemson fans, super nice guys, but it's not like Clemson sports were the most important thing in their lives.
Great golf over there.

I live here in Clemson and it's really 50/50. I play golf with a ton of guys that went to Clemson, and they are great folks. However, lots of douchebags as well. My friends and I spent a good bit of time around campus "back in the day" and had to beat the shite out of multiple groups of Clem. frat guys, they are TOTAL asswipes.

Every fan base has "those" fans they wish they could give to another team, but overall Clemson fans are ok. They treat their opponents fans with respect and will invite you to their tailgate win or lose.
Don't let the over zealous morons (every fan base has them) sway your decision.
