How done is this? Obviously they have to wait for the transfer window, but I have seen people reporting this as a done deal. I know what media members to trust in American sports. Not the case in Europe.

I posted this in the transfer thread a couple days ago and was really surprised when no one, especially fellow Spurs supporters, decided to comment on it. Would be a pretty big move imo.

If we do get him, who drops out of the starting lineup?

Probably because there's been so many rumors about where Sneijder would end up and English press seems to randomly link Tottenham to half the Serie A players potentially on the move every window for some reason.

However, this transfer does seem a lot more likely than previous rumors. Sneijder is almost certain to move after losing his first team spot to Fredy Guarin and then being left out of the squad altogether for the past couple of months.

I don't follow EPL closely enough to really comment on Spurs' roster but AVB was at Inter when Sneijder was arguably as effective as any player in the world.

I guess that could result in AVB being confident that he can get him back on track. Or, I suppose the risk is that AVB doesn't realize how Sneijder's game has slipped and his problem at Inter was as more due to his unwilling attitude to adapt to not having everything rotate around him.

Sneijder looked pretty damn sick at the Euros. He looked the only player on Holland that was not lost/fighting.

Has his form dropped that much?

Yes that is true. Though to be fair the link I posted was from an Italian journalist so I thought it to be a little more credible.

This was my original Link

Who do Spurs drop and what formation do they use to get all their players on the field?

Good question. But, Modric starting for Spurs is probably better than Sneijder at this point. Can't blame them for taking the cash as we have done.

If Sneijder came, it would be a crowded midfield, but there has to be a solution. Bale, Dempsey, and Sneijder could all get on the field if we used Adebayor as a sub and added a midfield spot. Sometimes I feel like Adebayor is a wasted player up there. He had some great dribbles today that reminded me he still had game.

Modric played in one of the two holding spots in their 4-2-3-1. Sneijder will never play that role in the EPL.

Not sure the exact formation but as of right now I think I'd prefer them to drop Ade from the XI because he hasn't made that much of an impact lately and Defoe as the lone striker with Bale and Lennon on the wings and with midfield options like Dempsey, Dembele, Sneijder and Sigurðsson (more as a rotational player depending on his form) should provide sufficient firepower. Sandro would still start though.

Bad news for Adebayor imo, Sneijder behind defoe, allows Dembele to play next to Parker in the midfield

If Sneijder plays behind Defoe, where does Dempsey play?

His agent denied this rumor today. Who knows if that means anything though?

It would be bad for Dempsey and Adebayor. Dempsey behind Defoe seems to be the first choice, with Adebayor and Defoe as the second. But there's really nowhere to go for Dempsey if Sneijder takes over the #10 role. I mean he can obviously play on the left, just not for a team that has Bale. Lennon's got the right sided role and he's not going to play deeper in midfield.
