“I would have to guess that we would continue on the path that we’re headed, and that offensively, we would maybe be as talented as we have been with some of the newcomers that will be here even in January,” Miles said after practice Tuesday night. “It will be a nice kind of pick-me-up on the team.”

quote:

“I think there’s a chance to have different personnel combinations,” Miles said. “I think there’s a chance to expand bits and pieces of our offense that benefit our personnel. I think there will be structural and strategic differences, based on the guys that we have and the productivity that they’re giving us.”

All the pieces will be there...I am excited about the offense next yr..With Mett having a year under his belt, the offense should look really good next season.

Great. Let's implement a good passing attack, and a more diverse running scheme than running up the middle against a 9 man front.

didn't we hear this type of stuff after 1/9. we heard our offense was going to be different this year. We did have injuries but even once we got going les pulled the reigns back in the arky game.

I started to write that in the original post but I didn't want to come off negative...I get the feeling that he actually will open up the offense next yr...given the people that will be back, we SHOULD be very much improved next season.

if we ran the same o we did vs bama id be pleased. the play calls for most of the game against bama were great, we had balance and we used our wrs, tightends and backs. the rest of the year we seemed to forget that we are allowed passes to the backs.
I hope les does what he says its just hard to believe it when this has been said since 08

at least he isn't trying to pass jj off as a serviceable qb anymore.

You really think our offense didn't open up from last year?

The offense will improve but the defense is goog to suffer after the draft.

I agree that for some reason our offense looked aggressive and fearless and well coached against Bama. I think the team turned the corner that game but after the loss looked sluggish and unmotivated.

it was different. nto drastically different, but different. I don't think drastic changes are in order, as much as better execution (which we got as the yr went on). having so many guys returning next yr, I expect to improve off experience alone.

the situational playcalling still leaves much to be desired, and that's my biggest concern (even more so than the defensive losses).

Jesus. Just find another team to cheer for then. Jump on the Clemson or West Virginia bandwagon- they've got tons on offense. You can shite all over Miles and LSU while enjoying your 5 WR sets and triple reverse HB passes.

some games it did and others we went right back into a shell.

we opened up on north texas and washington then went into shell mode at auburn and uf. then we open up against bama and attack all kinds of ways and while we didn't convert as many times as we should it looked good and like a building block until we went into a shell again against arky. In the off season we always hear how this is the year the o turns the corner and this and that and it just hasn't come true.
