Gents I am enjoying it. I can't compare it to previous years as this is the first 4RSmBLE I've ever had.

DBP it's a Jack barrel I had converted into a liquor cabinet.

Nice. I've tossed around that idea myself. I saw some barstools that used the top of a barrel and either 3 or 4 slats as legs that looked pretty badarse too.

Picked up that 4R select single barrell OBSV from Dorignacs. Aged 11 years 9 months. So so tasty!
My stash is starting to get somewhat respectable since starting to read this thread.
I've currently got a bottle of Maker's 46, Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare 10, Prichards double barrell, Bookers, Buffalo Trace experimental bottle made with rice, and now the 4R SB.

Uncle Jack,
If you were to make an Old Fashioned with one of my Bourbon's above which one would you chose? I've been using the bookers. What do you usually use?

Man I use the cheapest bourbon in my cabinet for any type of cocktail. I'll either keep a handle of Buffalo trace, old charter, or wild turkey for that reason.

I used to use better stuff but when I saw that Don's was using early times for there's, which is my favorite old fashioned in town, I stopped using good juice.

Yeah i kind of liked the kick and a little spice from the bookers. But I don't pretend to really know what I'm doing.

This. WT101, BT, or Maker's for my cocktails usually.

Got ya. Thanks. I'll experiment with the Buffalo Trace. Might try a Rye for a little more spice.

Another good one for bourbon based drinks is Benchmark. Its an 8 year old and I think comes from same distillery as Buffalo Trace (at least case shows stamp from Buffalo Trace warehouse).
