Beer recommendations?

I admit that I've never been a big beer-drinker; I just never cared much for it. Still, I'd like to try some beers that are supposed to be the "best" to perhaps see what I'm missing out on. If you could recommend one (and ONLY one) beer for me to try, what would it be?

what kind of flavors do you like?

cold!
I am a fan of a few Sam Adams seasonals. Winter Lager is one of my favorites.

What city do you live in? I might can give a starting point then let the seasoned vets take over...

For you though, Blue Moon Spiced Amber Ale. It's fricking awesome. Only in the winter sampler pack.

Start with a Chimay, pick your favorite color.
Widely available high quality beer.

Dang, that's tough for me to answer, considering you haven't even established what styles you like...
Try a Green Flash Rayon Vert? I'm interested in other suggestions. Don't take mine yet.

The one world class beer that I would recommend that would least likely scare someone off is weihenstephaner hefeweisbier

And where can I buy these beers that have been suggested? WalMart? The Cove?
I really haven't found any beers that I genuinely like a lot. If pressed, I'll drink Purple Haze or Killian's Red. Rolling Rock (or similar) will literally make me gag. I don't care much for the Coors-Miller-Budweiser go-to's that most people enjoy.

If I'm limited to just one, I recommend Anchor Steam.

I don't live in BR, but Calandro's is where my buddies go down there.

You have an awesome selection in Baton Rouge that I wish I had available to me. Good luck.

I would recommend a Sierra Nevada's Kellerweis, St. Arnold's Lawnmower or Weedwacker, Shiner Bock, Cane Brake, NOLA Blonde and Blue Moon. Those seem like good icebreakers that will get you headed down the road to even better beer.
Once you graduate from those, then branch out to hoppier and maltier beers such as Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale, Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout, Anchor Steam's Porter and Green Flash's Rayon Vert. After getting a taste for these you can then gravitate to the higher alchohol beers and IPAs.
