It's funny because nobody really has any idea who Long was interested in. Just like every other coaching search Long has conducted here. Petrino came completely out of left field, many coaches were rumored to have accepted the job prior to Mike Anderson being hired, etc...
Internet rumors = 5 million dollar offers and rejections
