Traveling home with trophy buck

If you shoot a wall hanger and you are at a camp, or more than 24 hours away from getting that bad boy in the freezer, how do you handle it? I have heard people say 10 different things so I decided, I'd add 75 more....What ya got? Im planning ahead!

Put in ice chest and pack with ice.

also, if you leave the cape/skull out of the cooler, it will get stolen

I am assuming you're asking what to do with the head and cape as trophy horns will not fit in cooler? I've set them in a chest with the lid open and packed in ice and vie put them in a garbage bag and put Ice in bag. Both have worked.

I wrap the cape/head in trash bag and put in ice chest and keep adding ice. When you stop, pull head out and put in truck to be safe

When i killed a buck in Ohio, I went to Wal-Mart and bouight a plastic storage conatiner. Throw some ice or dry ice in there and you should be good to go. Even flew mine back on an airplane without a problem.
