NEVER passes on the pick and roll. shite, never even considers it

Not particularly fast

Yea yea, he's 19, give him time, etc. etc.

Marcus Thornton and Collison were 100 times better as rookies, and now like 4 years later they're both very average players struggling
Thornton was a top 5 sg last year. NBATV ratings, not mine

railing on a 19 year old rookie 16 games into his NBA career and talking about how he'll never be good makes you a pussy. Yes.

You have to be patient with such a raw prospect like Rivers. It may take him 3 or 4 seasons to start figuring things out. He's got a great work ethic so it won't be his own fault if he can't put it together.
this.

If there's one thing I dislike about the kid, it's his poor off ball skills. He does very little when he doesn't have the ball in his hand. Stands around a bit too much.

True,but that is very coachable

Exactly. Where Rivers should be.
I actually agree with this...I honestly don't think I've ever seen a guy so physically outmatched on the hornets EVER.

The problem is we can't afford to have him take 4 years to "start figuring things out"
We needed to hit with the 1 and 10 pick

The D-league was NOT made for rookies to go so they could stop being overmatched, it was made for rookies that have no minutes and need to get some games in.
If you're a rookie that gets sent down and there's minutes, it's not a good thing and it's the last thing you should want for Rivers if you do want him to succeed. If you've already given up on him, fine. Just say so. But the D-League won't help him at all.
I can't think of ANY instances where a lottery pick gets sent down and comes back ready to take on all comers. I've heard of players being 2nd rounders and undrafted playing their way out of the D-League, but they never go back.

We certainly can. We have an extremely young core. Davis, Gordon, Anderson, and Rivers will still all be young 4 years from now and either reaching or at their prime. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I don't see why there's a rush. It's in that mode where every pick must be an All-Star talent, I guess. If he's a bench spark, so be it. But I don't see anything wrong with his game that experience and physical maturity can't help.

3 year contract
If he sucks after 3 years then we cut ties with him. Pretty simple. Year 3 will be the time to judge him

i love how it's already past tense. y'all got panties in a wad after 16 games where the kid hasn't even had a chance to play where he should be playing...backup shooting guard to EG. over time, he develops into either the starting PG or stays a potential great backup.
the 10th pick it hit-or-miss. as you can already see, this draft class had a LOT of misses. the hornets should feel fortunate that they got someone who has show flashes of potential. the future is bright. y'all just gotta be patient.
