SWGemu - Looking better

Looks like it is getting better and better. Middle of the day on a Monday and the server has over 1800 people. Forums are pretty active.
For the veterans out there:
Crafting, Combat, Loot, Missions, Cities, Vehicles, Buffs, Weapons, Slicing, Random Spawns, Vendors, Force Sensitive abilities, Housing, buildings, CA and AA tapes, All work.
I'll be hopping on it tonight to give it a whirl and start building my loot finding character.

I'm willing to give this a try. I was playing Ultima Online at the time this came out and by the time I wanted to try it out they had already ruined it.
If it has good server population and plays like the sandbox I heard it always was before the NGE times, I'd have fun.

I played on intrepid from Launch until the NGE ruined the game.

It had over 2000 people online last night from 7-11PM. True sandbox. Over 1300 On right now at 10:15 AM on a weekday.
No classes, everything is skill based. Go anywhere. Do anything you like. And, it's STAR WARS.You can run missions for Vader or Leia (others too).

GTFOOH. I was the first Master Weaponsmith/Master Armorsmith on Intrepid. Name was Dova Vachy. God I made a shitload of credits on that server.
I might have to pop back into the EMU. I've been in it from time to time just to mess around. I'll probably play if/when they get stable servers going in classic mode. That game was awesome until the developers screwed it up. Best gathering and crafting system by far in any game.

Nice. I'm sure I bought some of your weapons at some point. I was with the CW guild outside Mos Espa. I was a big game hunter (Krayts, Acklay, Night Sisters, etc) and sold loot for a living. We ended up getting a City on Tatooine. Good group of people. Still game with them to this day when our MMO tastes align.
I seriously suggest trying the SWGemu out. SWG is my fav game of all time and these guys have brought it back to about 85% of what it used to be with more on the way.

I played a ton of SWG back around 04-07. Stopped and picked up what IMO was the best MMO ever created.. City of Heroes.

I purchased 2 copies and quit 3months after launch. Tried getting back in but didn't have anyone to try it again with. Our core group quit and went back to CS.

Do you still need the discs to play? SWG is still my all time favorite mmo or rpg. They had it right when it came to true open world sand box gaming, player controlled everything. I think soe got jealous that's why they made the changes to the mainstream shite.

Yes you have to have the discs.
I have several sets. I was running 4 accounts for lots and harvesters for my crafter plus people in my town put up houses for me for storage.

I missed out on this game because I was deep into EQ. I wish I would have experienced it before the doomsday patch.

After last night's session I am just a hair away from novice swordsman. Would have gotten there but I died and ddn't have the time to go get re-buffed.
Once I get to master I'll decide what to do from there. Thinking of mastering Ranger to hunt for money with this character, then make a big game hunter later. Or just make this character my big game hunter.

The community was great and it was something really new. The patch didn't kill the game but took the mood out of it.

Anyone else jumping into the game?
Me and a few people from the old days have started a city. We will soon have every crafting profession mastered as well as doctor and smuggler. We will be completely self sufficient within a week.
