I watched this movie on Netflix over the weekend. The movie can seem kind of slow, but the ending is absolutely nuts.
I really didn't expect the level of violence from this movie. Slo-mo of someone taking a shotgun blast to the head!?!
Also, I'm curious if Gosling's character is supposed to have Asperger's or something. Half the movie he just awkwardly grins when people talked to him.
Did anyone else enjoy the flick?

Interesting. It wasn't my favorite movie by any means, but I thought it was decent.
I read a rotten tomatoes review saying it was an instant classic. I don't agree with that. I'd probably watch it again.

Not at all. If he had some form of Asperger's, he'd be talking way too much or not realizing that he's interrupting people. Let's just say the guy is mysterious...and not possessing a typical personality.

The only thing I didnt like about the movie is he should have used a ball peen hammer.
Otherwise fricking awesome and great soundtrack

And I would say more often than not people talking about how great Drive was are simple minded people trying to appear deeper than they are, because they are so terrified of not "getting" it.
There's nothing I hate more than saying people don't like a movie because they are too stupid to understand it. I'm smart enough to understand it. It just makes no narrative sense whatsoever and the climax is entirely arbitrary, as he and his girlfriend are going to get hacked up into little pieces five minutes after the credits roll. The plotting isn't slow, it's lazy and riddled with wild inconsistancies.
Beautifully shot. Terribly written. Yes, I know about the analogy.
