| A mindset question... (Posted on 12/3/12 at 9:15 am)
Why is there not an assault on the high cost of higher education like there is on healthcare? Should there not be a demonization of the big, wealthy schools that continue to extract every penny possible from it's customers? The high cost of higher education is out of control, benefits only a few at the top, is accountable only to it's closed group of beneficiaries and enslaves the common man in second and third jobs during it's engagement and massive burdensome debt when completed. ETA: THIS SITE is what got me thinking of this.

There will be a call for Universal Education Reform, it is a right, just like healthcare. Bank on it, free education Forward!

The rise in education cost is a combination of the easy money of student loans and young people's desire and expectation to have the "college experience" they want, no matter it's practicability. Greater demand + loans fueling demand = tuition inflation.

Just like healthcare, this is mostly a supply and demand issue. You need to first blame all of these kids and their parents who think they need a higher education (really diploma) and need to be "successful" in life, when they should be aspiring to much less.

Because all your professors and administrations are Democrats and they are the ones profiting from higher costs.

Higher education really isn't that expensive. SOME is really expensive, but you don't have to go there.
