Batman: Arkam Asylum/City
Posted by Cajun Revolution on 11/30/12 at 11:41 pm00
Just finished the Asylum and it was amazing. I thought the graphics and story were top notch. Considering going back and getting all the riddles, etc
Also bought Arkam City. Is it just as good?

Actually, much better, especially from a story aspect. I don't see how they can top it.

You are going to jiz when you play City if you loved Asylum.

There are a bunch of character bios still locked. How do I get those and are they worth it? Who are they?

The one knock on City that I constantly heard is that they tried to cram so much content into one game. Seemed kind of muddled. Still a fun game. I personally preferred Asylum for some reason. At a certain point in City, I just lost my way and interest. I'm all for open world, but the linear style of Asylum set better with me.

I don't care for open world games unfortunately. I'm not much of a gamer and I tend to lose interest pretty quickly if I start getting off track. Same reason I quit playing Red Dead Redemption.
I'm searching around for these trophies for about 30 minutes and I just got bored. I'm not really gratified knowing I can pull down vents to get a trophy. I understand how some see the challenge but I'm more into linear stories.
With that said, I'll still play it.
I have City, Black Ops, MW3 and Assasins Creed 3 yet to touch.

You might like Asylum more. There are really only 5 or so villains in City that add to the plot, but pretty much Batman's entire rouge gallery is in the game in various side missions.

I liked Asylum more, but only beat probably 15% of City and stopped.
Might try and beat it later on.
Blops 2, AC3, Hitman, Far Cry 3, I have zero time right now.
Haven't even start AC3 or Hitman and FC3 comes out this week.

Play them in order, but what I know now.. Arkam City >>>>>> Arkam Asylum.
You got console or PC? On PC Arkam City has the best Physics and Graphics I have ever seen. Looks better than RL, lol.
Also, have fun beating Mr. Free.. mmmmkay? Fckk that guy.

I just played/beat AC a couple of days ago. It's a fantastic game. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down for hours. I beat it in a day in a half.... Next is Ninja Gaiden 3. Gamefly..

I bought AA during the summer because Id never played it. I beat everything in like 4 days. I was hooked. I went & bought AC the next day & beat it in less than a week. It's one of the best games I've ever played. The Riddler maps & stuff is pretty fun too. I still pop it in every now & then.
I heard theyre making like a prequel Instead of a sequel for it. I just know its gonna be hard to follow up AC.

How many times did it take you guys to beat Mr. Freeze?
re: Batman: Arkam Asylum/CityPosted by Hulkklogan on 12/1/12 at 7:57 am to LSU Coyote
Twice.
He's really not bad at all.. just have to read the batcomputer and figure out how to lure him into the different ways. I died way more times on the Joker fight with a bazillion enemies, a titan, and hammer guy
Eta
I played on Normal difficulty though.. dunno how much of a difference that makes for Freeze.

Same.
Played Normal on PS3, took I think 3 times. First time two times I rushed it, you just need patience.
The Joker fight in AA or AC?
re: Batman: Arkam Asylum/CityPosted by Hulkklogan on 12/1/12 at 8:35 am to LSU Coyote
Yeah I rushed the first time. I was running around trying to figure out what to do, what would be the easiest techniques. He's really not that bad just time-consuming.
AC. I never have played AA.

Yea.. 15-20mins to beat.
You just lose focus luring him around that room.

Freeze must be easier on PC, though if you play the game on the hardest mode you have to literally do every single tactic shown in the bat computer in order to beat him.
Arkham city looks amazing on PC, but it sucks that they never fully fixed the dx11 issues. The difference was negligible anyway.

I didn't have any issues with the game. It actually run pretty good on my cards even in surround (when I had it).
re: Batman: Arkam Asylum/CityPosted by swagsurfin7 on 12/1/12 at 9:28 am to LSU Coyote
Took me probably 2 or 3 times because I just couldn't figure out what to do. Then I looked at the bat computer & had to lure him around the spots in the room to injure him.
Another one that was confusing was Solomon Grundy. Was he the one with the room with all the electricity?
