When Kent St wins the MAC championship this weekend and UCLA loses to Stanford, Kent St. will be #16 in the BCS and ahead of Rutgers which means they are an automatic at large.

This means the Cotton will grab OU assuming K-State beats Texas.

aTm vs OU doesn't generate the appeal that a aTm/Texas would.

If Bama beats UGA this weekend, expect aTm to the Cap One and LSU to the cotton to play OU.

Thoughts????

aTm probably still generates more interest than us though because they are an in state team with the likely Heisman winner

If Texas losses to K-Sta. OU will go to the Sugar.

Cotton would much rather aTm v OU than aTm v Texas.

OU seems to be a lock for the Sugar.

I agree with this. But If OU wins they are a LOCK for the Sugar. IF K-state beats Texas. If Texas beats K-state, OU goes to the Fiesta, UNLESS The Sugar and Fiesta make a deal to switch teams since OU has been to the Fiesta soo much in the last few years.

If Kent State is an auto-qualifier at-large, then Oklahoma cannot go to a BCS game, because Oregon will get the other at-large bid. Rose gets P-12 and B1G, Orange gets ACC and Big East, Fiesta gets Big 12 and at-large, and Sugar gets SEC and at-large. No room for OU!

OP already described why this might not happen, yes?

That's right, he did! One-loss Florida and Oregon grab the last two spots available in the scenario, with OU left to the Cotton ahead of Texas.

He did. That's why I said "seems to be." They're not in it yet.

Buddy, this is so dumb it hurts. For one, if you lose two games in a year and are only the 4th best team in your conference you aren't getting a good bowl. That's just the breaks, sorry.

Maybe if we scheduled better OOC opponents and proved that we are legitimately better than the top of the Big-12 or the Pac-12 then we'd have better options, but we scheduled a mid-level Pac-12 team, and a bunch of cupcakes.

Secondly, bowl season is all about making money, money, money. It's as capitalistic as it comes and we are getting passed over because people want to know how the top teams in the conferences match up. That's what makes money and sells tickets. What's going to sell more tickets, #2 SEC vs #1 Big 12, or #4 SEC vs #1 Big 12?

OP is right. I heard this discussed today on the radio and they said kent st will steal OUs BCS spot and he had OU vs either UGA or LSU with aggies going to Cap

I hope this works out. I live in Oklahoma and have to listen to constant bitching & griping about the SEC.

As I understand it, this is incorrect.

If Kent State gets to #16, they essentially take Rutgers AQ. Rutgers will not go to Orange.

Still room for OU in sugar.

ETA: nope. I'm wrong.

No Big East Champ is still an AQ, the chances are slim but Kent St could end up being ahead of 2 AQ champs in the Big East and ACC which means we could either play OU in Cotton or FSU in chicken which are both really interesting matchups.
