So does a 10 win season REALLY mean that much now-a-days? When was then last time 6 SEC teams won >= 10 games (or any conference for that matter)?

It seems as if we are being hypnotized into being simply "good" but not "great".

Ask the other 8 SEC teams.

Now tell me how many of those teams did all of that after losing a starting LT, RT, RG, RB, 2 LBs, CB/PR, had 21 players miss 1 or more games throughout the year.

What Les did this year is special no matter how you tards want to paint it.

So our goal is now simply to ensure we are better than the Ole' Misses, Miss Sts, Kentuckys, Vanderbilt etc of the SEC?

We are the sixth best team in the nation, yet only 4th best in our conference.

The term "falling back into the pack" pretty much has a new definition in the SEC.

it would mean more if we had a 8 team playoff.

6 SEC teams in the top 10 in the country. 3 of them had 10 wins. If you think that's "simply good", you're not living in the real world.

yep winning ten games isn't the same any more because 1. there are more games and 2. usually ooc schedule is light meaning you only need 5 or 6 sec wins to make it to ten on the year. win your four ooc games and then either go 6-2 or 5-3 and win your bowl and you have 10 wins.

still good but its not the same as it has been the past.

I dont think we have slipped to good yet but another few years without a nc and its likely we have gone from great to good.

fwiw i think we did pretty well to get 10 wins and probably 11 this year considering the amount of injuries and stuff off the field that hit this team. The frustrating part was the games we lost and stupid struggles vs auburn, towson, ole miss and arky.

Hypno Toad says 10-2 is good enough for you.

Every team deals with injuries etc. You must think the other 5 SEC teams are playing some RPG game where they are wearing helmets with injury immunity enchantments.

And the suspensions were self-inflicted.

So what you're saying is there are 6 really good teams separated by 1 game? Well that is certainly shocking.

Does anyone really think this team could win an 8 team playoff right now?

Not even close to what Les had to deal with this year. Do some research.

Reality Check: 2 SEC teams won 8 games, 5 SEC teams won fewer than 6.

5 did it last year, with two fewer teams in the conference.

The way our D is playing I doubt we would beat UGA this weekend.

i dont think its so much the amount of injuries as the positions that were hit by injury. Bama sustained plenty of injuries but they were to running backs and wrs who are easily replaceable. Ours hit on the oline and we had no answer for a few games.

Its a nice ten win season on one hand but also incredibly frustrating because the potential this team had.
