Gotta suck to be Alex Smith, he was 7/8 for a TD last week and 18/19 for 3tds the week before. Doesn't say he's the permanent starter...

Significantly weaker defense but going to be very loud and hostile. Pass rush has also been significantly better as of late. He's also going to have to shoot it out. Should learn a lot about him.

If it's not based on health this makes absolutely no sense at all. Alex Smith has been lights out recently and Kaepernick gets the nod bc of one good game?

It's not like Alex Smith is good or anything. I'm still shocked he's still in the league.

Harbaugh is definitely going to use the running game to keep Brees on the sideline. Kaepernick has some wheels, but he is going to feel the pressure to do something big once Drew lights up SF's D for a TD in less than two minutes.

Yeah. I said it. Drew is going to light up SF's D.

After struggling early in the playoffs game Brees absolutely carved them up. No reason to think he won't be able to put up a nice game again. I think Smith is much more suited to match the Saints offense in the dome at this point. I see kaepernick pressing.

lol.

health has to be part of the decision because this will be an important game on the road and alex smith has already proven he can play well there.
