Rewired trailer lights, OB electricians needed

I put an entirely new trailer light kit on my duck boattrailer this week, everything worked perfectly after I did it, backed the trailer in the water twice to launch and pickup later that evening, only the back right trailer light would come on when I hit the brakes, nothing else worked. All grounds seem to be fine (plug ground on the trailer, each light is grounded to the trailer...can't figure it out, checked all bulbs and they seem to be fine, any ideas?

I would check the grounds but sounds like you already did. Get some electrical cleaner spray and spray your plug in, could be dirty or corroded just enough.

everything is new, except the female plug on my truck, worked fine on the bass boat today, im always told it's the ground 99% of the time, someone told me the the lights should share a ground wire across the back of the trailer, don't see y I need to do this since they're grounded to the trailer, trailer lights drive me crazy

Don't see how this would help because of

Also could be a wire got nicked through the insulation and is going to ground where you don't want it to.

Check ur fuses for the trailer in ur truck fuse box. I have on in the truck, and one under the hood.

If it was a fuse, none of the lights would work. Go buy LED's and be done with it. If the new ones are LED's, then it is a ground. Clean your trailer ball with emory cloth and then check the wires for broken insulation and maybe rough up/expose/clean the trailer where the ground is for each light.

I always hard wire the ground to all lights at the bulbs
Screw the one ground to the whole trailer..........

Had this exact situation occur last year. Spent all damn day screwing around with it. Turns out the fuses for the truck plug were out. Changed them and bingo......we've got lights.
eta.....there were two fuses....one for left and one for right.

i'll check fuses but it works fine with the bass boat lights...i'll clean the trailer ball and probably rewire all grounds and see what happens
