Brewstock in New Orleans; I am sure there is a similar store in BR. Or order online from Austin Home Brew.

homebrewtalk.com is a good online source for instructions and tips. do extract for your first brew get "how to brew" by John Palmer. read it, then brew your first batch. austinhomebrew.com for ingredients and equipment. Shipping to Louisiana is 1 day.

Brewstock in New Orleans is the best (and only maybe) local guy in S. LA. I trust the freshness of their ingredients more. You can also go to Marcello's wine warehouse here in Baton Rouge. They have good startup kits. They have the one that i used to start my brewing. Also, buy this book. Probably the most important piece of equipment you will ever need. I got all of my equipment online, minus a couple things. The site i use the most is Austin Home Brew I use them primarily for ingredients because shipping is much quicker. I've also used Northern Brewer and Midwest Supplies.

Others of us will tell you that we've met every other homebrewer and craft beer fan on this board except you.

Northern Brewer is a great place to order to start. They offer a startup kit and an extract kit for $80. I don't think you could beat that.

All of this is true. Well pending any upcoming scheduling dates, when is the next meeting? Y'all are members of brasserie right?

Usually pretty easy to find a Groupon for a Midwest supply starter kit that should give you everything you need to brew a batch minus a large stock pot.

Just had a meeting Wednesday night. The next one will be the 2nd Wednesday in December, so I think that is the 12th. But we typically get together more often than that for tastings and such.
