Chili as a meal or as a condiment?

I've had this discussion with a friend of mine. He had never heard of chili being eating as a meal. Like a bowl, maybe some cheese and a few corn chips. To him, it's a a condiment only like to put on nachos, hot dogs, burgers, taco salad, etc.... What say the F&D board?

The only time I use it as a condiment is on a hotdog and that's a totally different type of chili...

Agreed. I'll go both on it. Sometimes I want a chili dog but sometimes when it's cold out give me a bowl of chili with some Fritos in it.
Second question for everyone, would you dare drink a big glass of milk with it? He says this is an Anglo thing and thinks milk with chili is disgusting.
