Isn't there some kind of urban legend about why the room numbering system in Lockett is all fricked up, like a equation built into the building itself.

Well the basement has a circular layout, so some people say that the original plans called for the building to be cylindrical. I haven't heard anything about the room numbers though.

The numbering system makes no logical sense, evens and odds on same side, out of order, like a drunk person numbered it.

Hidden cache of guns below pentagon dorms in case of invasion or a second civil war.

re: LSU Urban Legends Around Campus

I remember hearing about a tunnel that ran all the way from the downtown area to campus. Supposedly Huey used it. Heard it might have been from the Downtown Hilton area.

There may be some truth to that. A buddy of mine was working as lobbyist at the capitol during session one year. He became friends with one of the reps. I don't recall what parish he was representing. Anyhow, his buddy took him down to stacks/library in the basement. In there was a door that opened to a tunnel that led to the Hilton. My buddy walked around for a bit down there and took a few pictures. It didn't look any different from the tunnels I had been in back in my hay day at LSU.

I guess what one could take away from the story is that it's not entirely farfetched to believe there might be a tunnel leading to campus from the capitol area. I personally don't believe it but the inside of both tunnels did look about the same, but then again they were probably both built at the same time and by the same builder.

There was an awesome thread about just this posted several years ago.

Not sure if anyone has linked it yet.

The older generations before me that went into the tunnels apparently really liked the Ramones and red candles. Ramones was painted pretty much in every tunnel.

All the buildings on LSU campus that were built in the 1920's and 1930's have steam tunnels underneath them. They carried steam from the physical plant for heating radiators. They have not been used in decades.

According to Facility Services, there are no tunnels that even come close to connecting the university to downtown. They only span around central campus. It's a fun thing to speculate though.

It wasn't a frat, but rather 3 individuals who were severely punished for that act. They only killed one ostrich.

Well, we know for a fact there are tunnels at LSU and at least one tunnel that runs from the Capitol to the Hilton. Who really knows how many more could exist? I'd be willing to bet money that there is at least one tunnel that runs from the Hilton to the Old Governor's Mansion.

There is a tunnel that runs underneath the street from the Capitol House hotel to the old Hiedlberg.(Indigo)

It is not anywhere near LSU, it is downtown BR.

LSU has a few steam tunnels, maybe a mile's worth in and around the Quad area and a few outlying spots too -

I think it's fricked up how Kirby Smith doesn't have a 13th floor because of the bad karma associated with the number "13".

Yet Kirby Smith has exactly 13 floors.
