One would assume he's pretty much maxed out at Oklahoma State, with a 12-1 season, conference championship, and BCS Bowl victory. I do realize he played there and the connection runs deep, but the odds of him winning a national championship there are slim.

It just seems like he could consistently compete for championships a place with a more national name and bigger recruiting budget like a Texas or Tennessee.

He pretty much has a job there forever if he wants it. They can pay fairly well, and are still improving their athletic facilities. I don't think he will leave oSu.

He'd leave for a bigger SEC school (Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia) or Texas.

Not unless it was for the NFL. OSU will pay him as much as it takes to keep him there as long as he keeps winning.

I think he's a great coach. Sumbitch would fight a grizzly near for his players.

Yes. He was close to going to A&M, and if offered he'd would likely go to Arkansas. OSU is not as financially strong as people think, the school has a bad history of misappropriating donations and not delivering on promises to boosters.

If Texas came knocking (and this goes for any coach) he'd have his house packed by the next night.

Gets a top 10 salary in the nation, lives in the place he grew up and was a field goal away from a national championship game. Why would he leave for arky? I mean i'm not trying to flame but Arky is a trainwreck and its not like it is a perennial powerhouse.

Please elaborate, OSU had their largest freshman class in history this year oh and T BOONE

Arky fans are claiming him, and every other good coach is calling, begging to come to R-Kansas. It's funny.

From what I have been reading, T Boone is part of problem. Do they not get along?

They seen to get along fine. To be honest it doesn't really matter what t Boone thinks anymore in the sense that he has already gave his money for all the facilities and Gundys huge successes over the past few years have given him the power.

Well, do you know where 28% of the endowment went? They had invested heavily in T. Boone's hedge funds.

I guess that entire Athletic Village has been built by now hasn't it. The new Spears building that they cram down all of our throats that they're pushing current students to donate to, is a sign of weak fundraising.

The Student Union remodel really only expanded the bookstore to sell more retail goods and reconfigure the fast food outlets in the building to get a better contract.

The Vet school got on the wrong side of Mrs. Pickens and they're suffering by pandering to a handful of big donors, much like Burns and Holder will learn.

A big freshman class isn't that impressive. Everywhere has large freshmen classes, the thing is OSU hasn't had to put kids in hotels because they ran out of space, they're not building new dorms, and the other schools in the state are growing just as fast. NSU, UCO, and even SWOSU are seeing enrollment jumps.

The $ that was put into the Spears building and the Riata center a year ago, will go for nothing when they tear it down to build the new one whenever they get the funds. The one thing they do really, really good at OSU is agricultural sciences and the business side of it is parallel with the SSB, not integrated as it should be.

There's a number of quality boosters at OSU, but nothing like the support he'd receive at Arkansas. Gundy's salary isn't top 10 btw. It ranks as 15 this season according to coacheshotseat. Here's a link to his contract LINK

One of the driving factors people overlook. At OSU he's just the coach of Okie Light, at Arkansas he's in the SEC, and he's the #1 celeb in the state instantly. He'll captain of the flagship and have an entire state's support with bigger and better facilities and a better airport in XNA. He won't have to resort to getting ferried in subpar aircraft like OSU coaches have had to do in the past.

the athletic department lost a lot of money in some life insurance deal that Boone had the AD invest in

Have you seen the new Indoor Practice Facility that is almost done? They are also getting ready to announce the new baseball stadium.

I was in it last weekend, that place is a palace and one of the largest in the US.

Mrs. Pickens will soon get her maiden name back

Thats because they finished building all their new dorms 3 years ago, I lived in one.

Biggest celebrity in Arkansas, who fricking cares/wants that?

You think Arky has nicer facilities than OSU? Really?

You are literally retarded if you think Gundy is leaving OSU for a job like Arky. Do you think it's that big of a deal to him to be the head coach at a second tier team in the SEC? Why would he? His path to BCS bowls is a hell of a lot easier in the Big 12. We aren't talking about Bama, Texas, or USC man.

Are all Arky fans like this?
