Sad thing is, Nashville is full of great writers, but this braindead sh#t is how they get cuts on records, and buy food.
Don Von Tress, who penned "Achy Breaky Heart" was a Nam vet, and most everything else he wrote was introspective, poignant stuff. I took the stupidest thing he ever crapped out to make him a millionaire.

You will be better off if you never listen to it. The song is absolutely atrocious, should not ever be played on any station (much less a country music station), Tim McGraw should be ashamed to sing it, the writer should be ashamed for writing it, the record producer should be disgusted he produced such a pile of shit, the band should embarrassed that they played music for it, Faith should divorce Tim over it, and everyone who likes it should walk off a cliff.

Chris Knight has some good older stuff. Can't say I am current with him, though. Going Down the River is one of my favorites.
I am sure some of these pop stars can make a good song by a campfire, but it doesn't sell, so they don't record it.
