Just found out the sherriff's office has been writing tickets for no inspection sticker on boat trailers. I didn't even know I needed one. If you have one, where is it located and does it hold up to the weather?

I have always kept mine with the registration for the trailer. Not sure where it is actually suposed to go. I have only had it inspected once, when I bought it, 7 yrs ago.

It is actually a state law, but it's not heavily inforced. It would take a real douche cop to write you a ticket for it...

Yes, you suppost to have one, but was never check. Way back in the day, you just kept them with your registration.

Terrebonne parish deputies were at the launch. I was told the fines were over 250. I can't find anything on LA DMV

A fella I work with got written up by a LA state trooper a couple of weeks ago. The trooper said they haven't really enforced it in the past, but were told recently to start writing tickets for expired/non-existent trailer inspection stickers.
The good news is that it's almost impossible for your trailer to fail the inspection from what I've seen.
