I have lived in Alabama for a few years now and it is close to unbearable. It's hard to explain but I am going to try. As a college student, I hated Alabama and Auburn equally, though if pressed I probably hated Auburn more. Such is no longer the case. Entitled, arrogant, ignorant, jaded, cocky, bragodocious, and more so than anything, downright irritating.

I work at a company in which my boss leads off every meeting with a lesson about Nick Saban. Makes me want to scream. I would rather him lead off a budget meeting with a lesson in fiscal spending from Barack Obama. A vein pops in my forehead and my blood simmers. Inside, a deep hatred grows.

And right now they are at their absolute worst. Seeing them walk around town and call in to radio shows and brag about their team does nothing but make me appreciate our LSU team and love what we've got. And what we've got is a chance - a chance to see their hopes and dreams come crashing down. We are the only team in the country that can say this and say it with conviction. Think about that.

This hatred runs deep. I want them to bleed. I want this to sting. And I want them to limp back to Tuscaloosa, to Birmingham, to Huntsville, Montgomery, Decatur, Gadsden and Cullman -- with their whole world gone away in the blink of an eye of the tiger.

I can't wait to be home in Tiger Stadium surrounded by friends again. I am going to yell my arse off, in support of our team, and in release of an anger and a hatred of that sense of entitlement, of Gumpdom, and of all things Alabama. And I'm not coming back without a victory.

Let's do this.

Hang in there, Fred!! It is almost as bad as living amongst the inbred, Hog fans in NW Ar-Kansas. At least Bama has won something. These idiots haven't been relevant since 1964.

I too, live behind "enemy lines". Their fan base is crazy idiotic. I've personally found their fans who have never even set foot in Tuscaloosa are the worst. Those who went to college there are much more laid back.

I don't know where you live here in God-forsaken Alabama...but I feel your pain.

I'd imagine this is the same for any school...

You won't find a larger group of people with lives defined by what a group of kids do. Whether it was in 2011, or the 1920's.

Meh..... I live in the Eastern Shore of Mobile and most Bama fans I am friends with are worried about this game. But then you have your dipshit Gumps that think they are going to run through us. We have a new fan base this weekend... That be Auburn. That's a hate I cannot describe.

I have lived here over 12 years and most are respectful. After the championship game, it was a tad difficult though...

As always.....Geaux Tigers!!

Funky,

You are correct. It is the same in Hillbilly-ville. It is the toothless moonshiners with Hog caps and overalls that just make we wonder what I am doing living up here. Most of them couldn't find Razorback Stadium, but are the first ones to call the radio shows and start spewing hatred towards LSU.
