Did David Stern rig the '85 NBA draft?

I'll be honest. I think this is a bunch of BS, IMO.

Stern

1. Lets say he tried to bend the envelope. Well, he did the worst job ever. If true, why not bend it beforehand?

2. Lets say the envelope was frozen. Stern literally had his hand in there for 1 second. He grabbed 2 or 3, and quickly dropped them. He didn't fish his hand around there for 10 seconds trying to find anything.

3. From my count, not a lot of envelopes in there. Not like there were 12-13 envelopes. Knicks had a pretty decent chance from the get-go.

Liston took a dive.

The Big 8 refs intentionally missed the kick ball by Nebraska vs. Mizzou

Yeah, the SEC favors the Alabama schools in its management decisions.

I never really have heard a compelling argument for this though. Clay was going to frick him up regardless.

The famous phantom punch?

Yeah, that was crap. I love the commentary when Foreman goes down in the Rumble in the Jungle and people thought it must be fixed too...the unbeatable killer Foreman..."that was no phantom punch...THAT was no phantom punch as Foreman goes down."

They saw the kicked ball by Davidson...they just said it was unintentional. '94 and '97 are crap titles for Nebraska...and you can't change it.

Liston was a BAD BAD man, probably 3-5 years older than reported btw. He had no birth certificate.

I'm more inclined to believe that the SEC just protects their golden child for the year. Auburn in 2010, Florida during their run, LSU, and Bama etc..

Too much money involved for them not to.

I've thought this for a while. Maybe it's just my imagination, but I feel like whenever a team is undefeated that they get more calls in their favor to make sure an SEC team makes the National Championship game.

Certain refs in the NBA fixed games. Oh wait, that's not a conspiracy...

The only one that stands out to me is the Lakers/Kings WCF, in which Donaghy officiated. Sketchy stuff in those games...

I was looking to see if someone mentioned this. Game 6 was particularly crazy.

Lebeon to Cleveland...

All these things are not "conspiracies"...they are business decisions.

Amazing that Goodell did everything to ruin the Saints season...yet...the refs took away 3 legit TD's...all reviewed...against KC. Am I supposed to think it was just the replacement refs? Here's a clue...the replay referees were not replacement

2003 Swindle in the Swamp

The most blatant cheating and fix I've ever witnessed.

To be fair, that was probably karma for what happened to FSU in the 66 game. This was somehow called "out of bounds," resulting in a UF win.

Arkansas got hosed at UF in one of the Tebow years. It was borderline criminal at the end of that game.

That was in 09, and I was no idea what you're talking about.

Stern making sure Lakers beat the Kings

USSR beating the USA in the olympics

Ewing getting drafted to the Knicks

Those are the 3 that are completely inarguable

NBA Conspiracy to benefit large market teams.

Lakers trading for Pau Gasol while giving up next to nothing.

Lakers trading for Dwight Howard while giving up almost nothing leaving the smaller market Magic devastated and leaving their cupboard empty.

Or the Magic were just dumb.

All the players going to the Knicks, Linsanity.

The Big 3 in Boston, Chris Paul in LA, with Blake Griffin in every commercial ever made.

For me personally, I have no doubt in my mind that the 2007 West Virginia/Pitt game was fixed. Pitt won in spite of the blatant cheating.
