The NFL knew that the mob was running the 49ers in the 80s and let that happen. The same way they allowed them to cheat the salary cap with "performance clauses" when that was created in the 90s.

Two games in '09 for Bama were really iffy to keep them perfect...but that's probably not conspiracy...just down home SEC cooking.

I'm more inclined to believe that the SEC just protects their golden child for the year. Auburn in 2010, Florida during their run, LSU, and Bama etc..

Too much money involved for them not to.

The most blatant cheating and fix I've ever witnessed.

I totally agree with this. The games get slanted in the direction of the ratings bonanza matchup games.

I buy that except that there was no reason to favor Auburn over LSU in 04 and 06.

Arkansas got hosed at UF in one of the Tebow years. It was borderline criminal at the end of that game.

I believe that the SEC office runs all football decisions by University of Alabama before they are announced, and if they say no then shite doesn't happen. I believe that to be a fact.

Maybe 5 years ago. Now every loss is 100% Miles' fault.

ETA: Unless it involves a play against Alabama where Patrick Peterson definitely intercepted a ball.

I tend to believe it has only started since '07, or rather right after, when the SEC believed they could get a team in the championship almost every year.

It's not just the SEC, UT and OU tend to get quite a few calls in their favor if they are at the top. The BCS has made the championship and the BCS bowls quite lucrative, so it really isn't too surprising.

David Stern is a sleezeball and a savvy business man.

There is NO frickING WAY IN HELL that he would suspend his most marketable player right in the middle of his prime.

The only one that stands out to me is the Lakers/Kings WCF, in which Donaghy officiated. Sketchy stuff in those games...

The last time the lower ranked (meaning no shot at BCS Title) SEC team won the SEC Title Game was #13 Georgia over #3 LSU in 2005. But that year wouldn't have mattered anyways...at the time of the SEC Champ game, the two contestants, undefeated, were entrenched all year for the title game...USC vs. Texas. (There have been #2's beating #1's but that doesn't matter, SEC is a pig in a blanket regardless of the outcome.)

I'm not denying that Jordan's gambling was out of control, Stern just did a fantastic job of keeping it under wraps. The fact that there is still no real information about it to this day proves exactly that.

Well, they LSU fans convinced that they have a "rivalry" with Florida and put the third western-most team in the East.

Just because Auburn cannot be separated from Alabama and the Third Saturday in October is fricking sacred or something.

Might as well throw the '06 Finals in too. Donaghy has said they were rigged, but it's hard to take his word for it.

But from game 3 on, the series was officiated quite differently and more in Wade's favor specifically.
