Anyone have any experience with these? Time for a new generator for tailgating. Will only use 5-6 times a year. Worth the extra money for the Honda? Was looking at the iX2000. Very mixed reviews from what I've seen. Thanks for any help.

No experience with the generac, but those Honda inverters are freakin sweettttt

So quiet and efficient.

We have a Honda 2000i that's pretty sweet. It's worth the money to be able to throw it in the backseat and roll with it, plus the obvious quietness of it.

I have the Honda 2000. Love it. Not one complaint.

Check out the Champion Inverter generator. Same price as the Generac, almost as quiet as a Honda. Got good reviews from the RV crowd. I love mine.

Honda is quiet and overpriced
Generac is the mainstay of generators- made in USA

all other brands are knock offs most made in china

you get what you pay for

I would buy generac unless you really need the quiet or just love spending money

We have a 15K Generac on the house. Never had any problems with it whatsoever.

I've never read a good review of the generac 2000, I would avoid it, I know nothing of their larger units.

Never heard anyone complain about their Honda, have a friend that has the Yamaha, and he saved alittle over the Honda and I think it is just a touch quieter.

I don't know anything about the generac's but if your only using it for tailgating, I wouldn't be concerned with noise, use a long extension cord and turn up the tv. However, I own a few Honda 2000's and wouldn't replace them for anything else. I run my RV with 2 of them. I have a parallel kit that combines the two giving me 4000 watts and have a 6 gallon gas tank that feeds into both generators giving me 8 gallons. I actually had 2 of them stolen and replaced them within a week. Gas efficient and super quite.

I have the Yamaha and at the time I purchased it it was a few hundred less than the Honda and the specs say the Yamaha is quieter. Have had no problems with it. As for the Generac, I have a larger one at home no problems but i dont know anything about theirsmaller ones

generac designs their motors to run at an rpm necessary for constant power

Almost all other generators use general purpose engines that are used to power all kinds of equipment

When generating power you want consistent clean power without fictionalizations

This..I've toured there manufacturing facility in WI

Great Product (but I'd say Honda's are pretty good too).

For less than $100 dollars you can get a Harbor Freight Chicago 900 watts Generator for your tailgating parties.

We bought one of those little Harbor Freight generators 3 seasons ago to leave at the camp. I was tired of toting the Honda back and forth and wanted something we could leave and not worry about being stolen.

It's been 3 years, and that thing still runs like a champ and is very quiet.

Not a bad deal if you can put up with the smoke from the 2 cycle engine.
