Is it just me, or does anyone else see linemen, and especially tight ends, not playing until the end of the whistle. At LSU, the RB's and pileups they cause are suppose to fall forward. Too many times are they getting pushed back, while linemen and tight ends stand there and fiddle faddle. I understand forward progress to spot the ball, but get your tail moving and push the pile forward linemen and TE's. If the pile is moving forward the refs aren't going to blow the whistle and forward progress will continue.

On another note, have not seen the wide receivers be aggressive off the ball (or really on the ball either). Open some space for the RB's and other WRs to gain more yards. This is probably why are special teams play has been not so special. Maybe it is youth and lack of being in Moffit's weight room. I miss LaFell. That dude laid out some DBs.

Good win for the Tigahs this weekend and lets get prepared for some revenge.

Did you miss the block that Jarvis Landry had on the A&M CB like 15 yards up the field that let Ford into the end zone. That was one hell of a block and without it Ford does not score.

Landry also had one earlier in the season in TS I believe on a Kenny Hilliard run where he basically knocked the guy into tomorrow.

You must be watching the wrong game. Landry gives more effort blocking upfield from the WR spot than anyone I can remember

I actually noticed our lineman watching a runner get stacked up after one play on Saturday...and was surprised he wasn't pushing the pile.

I thought he went in almost untouched? I am talking about once the RB is wrapped up and moving the pile. As far as the receivers, they just aren't as good at catching or blocking as the ones before them. Currently, I would rate our receiving group as kind of soft, short, and slow with butterfingers. They are young and just need time.

Hell of a catch by Boone.

I forgot who it was that dropped the long ball.

Was it this game or the South Carolina one where we actually pushed the RB and gained and extra 4 or 5 yards? First time I have seen it in a year from LSU and I have no idea why we seem to be the only damn team that doesn't do it often.

I brought this exact point up during the game. Linemen get their initial push, but once the running backs are stood up, linemen are standing around with their thumbs up their asses. They need Turley to come out to practice and show them how to clean up a pile.

Landry is one of the best blocking WR's that we have ever had.

The average quality of your posts would increase if you made the decision to post more seldomly.

I'm not arguing your point about the lack of second effort. I agree this has been a problem. However, for all the problems the WR's have had, it had not been from down field blocking.

See the third post as an example.

I love my boy Chase but I saw him a few times on Saturday just standing and watching as the defense was driving our RB's back before the whistle blew.

Hardly ever called but technically this is illegal.

Ok. I will keep a better watch on the WR blocking. Maybe i have missed some great WR blocks based on how many beers i have to drink to try and forget all the dropped passes during a game. I think the WRs will come around in the route running and catching skills. Mett did throw some ducks this past weekend over some wide open receivers.

You don't suppose coaches want those big guys out of the big pile ups for fear of further injuires to our thin o-line? Just a curious thought. I wouldn't think a coach would ever suggest that but can't think of any other reason a lineman watches his RB get thrown backwards.

Absolutely. Very consistent. Also, sustaining a stock block down the field is extremely difficult and to do it consistently is saying something.

We ran for 258 yards against South Carolina and 219 yards against Texas A&M. I am all for criticizing the offense, but can we do it on stuff that really matters?

I think that our OLine and WRs are doing a good job blocking overall. Sure, they could be better, but the defense is trying to make plays too.

If Mett can connect on those longer passes and that TE dragging across the middle, the whole game is different. Eventually, I have to think it will click for him.

Just hoping he can withstand the pressure he is going to see on 11/3. Some inside handoffs, draw plays, and WR screens will come in handy to slow down the rush.

Pushing the pile could also lead to someone getting injured. If that happened the rant would explode
