Just saw on ESPN.

Senior Austin Rehkow made the kick. That's pretty amazing for any level kicker.

You know what's crazy, though? He probably could've made it from 71-72 yards.

He nailed it...

If he goes to USC, Kiffin will let him try a 76 yard FG

Martín Gramática was said to be able to hit a 70 yarder in practice when he was at K-State. He even lined up for a FG around the 50 in the Big 12 title game when A&M beat them in 98 but a penalty moved them back 5 yards and they went for a Hail Mary instead.

In high school if you kick a field goal it acts as a punt. The ball would have been a touchback had it reached the end zone, the return man can return it, or the kicking team can down it wherever it lies after the failed attempt

There is not a lot of risk in kicking one if you know your kicker can hit the end zone

This is why denham would kick it everytime they crossed the 50 when they had josh Lewis a few years back. He missed some 63 yarders that year but they just resulted in touchbacks
