The reason you hear about some high school kicker every year hitting a 60 plus field goal is because most of these guys kick a slick, pumped up football for kickoffs and field goals and punts. Then they get to college and use a real game-ball and can barely make a 40 yarder.

We attempted a 56 yarder in middle school

it would have been good from 18

So how far can you kick one off a tee?

Get outta here with that shite. 67 yards off of the ground or a tee is impressive for a high schooler.

Doesn't look like he used a tee in that video, but it is hard to tell.

You can see the holder putting the tee down before the snap.

Yeah I didnt' see a tee, but it was on a turf field. I think natural grass effects that a bit more.

On closer look what I thoughts was his glove, looks like a tee he transfers to the other hand. Who knows, still impressive.

Me personally, I don't know, maybe 20 yards or something..I've never actually tried to I couldn't tell ya.

However, upper level Division 1 kickers who have done it their whole lives can probably kick it from 60+ off a tee. I'm not downplaying the kid's accomplishment because that's awesome no matter what. But let's get real, if tees were used in college 60+ yarders would be all over the place.

There's probably a handful of 50+ yarders kicked all over the country any given saturday withOUT a tee, it's not really a stretch to think they could get 10 more yards with one.

Moments before the 67 yard kick, if the ball was replaced with the same ball that his quarterback had to throw, the kick would not have crossed the goal line on the air.

It's very difficult to kick a fully inflated brand new NFL or college ball and not as hard to kick a "worked" used high school ball. In high school I could make FG's 60-65 yards and with a brand new game ready college ball it took about 10 yards off.
