"They pressured Conner Shaw and made him look average" I love it

He made himself look average most of the time. i was not impressed at all

I tell you who's average, possibly below average is Mett. What a disappointment. Close theread

As I said, they commented on our defense, since the QB is on OFFENSE, your comment was not required

I'm convinced that the official louisiana state past time is hating the starting LSU quarterback

Hes right. Shaw is a better passer than Mett.

agreed, and our defense mostly shut him down, SEC Quarterback rankings prior to season opening:
6. Connor Shaw, Jr., South Carolina: Shaw showed his inexperience when he was first thrown into the starting spot last season, but seemed to improve and calm down every week after. Coach Steve Spurrier wants him to be more of a pass-first quarterback, and that seemed to be the case at the end of last season and this spring.

Shaw didn't do shite last night. I don't know where this is coming from.

Neither did Mett. On the passes that were thrown, Shaw looked crisper and more comfortable

Yeah, Reid's interception was a beautifully thrown ball!

So Metts the best SEC QB, got it.

Rember Archie Manning one of the best QB around but he was always running for his life, cause he had no protection. QB like Shaw or Mett for that matter if they have lots of time ie protection to read the defense find the open routes and throw the ball without being distracted by a blitzing back will always look brilliant. Not likely senario in the SEC however.

No, not what I said, just don't see shaw as "crisper and more comfortable."

Back to the OP's topic, Shaw was completing 70% of his passes before last night. LSU held him to a 55% completion rate and 3 ypc less than his season average. He looked very average and appeared rattled and confused most of the night.
Most impressively, LSU did this while completely shutting down USC's running game , which was supposed to be their strength.
D has never been LSU's problem.

A Chavis defense tends to do that to people. We could never hope to formulate the words to express how lucky we are to have that man.
Combine that genius with how electric Tiger Stadium was last night and we got to witness something special.
