...but several recently have shocked me. The question was posed whether Mett should be benched. That was followed by a litany of people accusing the asker of being an idiot and stating that Mett is not the problem and has been "fine." Well, I don't know what games these people have been watching, but I'd like them to take a step back and answer a few questions:

1. Is it "fine" that the quarterback has ZERO mobility?
2. Is it "fine" that when handed the keys to the offense against Towson, we struggle to consistently move the ball?
3. Is it "fine" that from all outward appearances, including sideline interactions and his on field presence he appears to (a) have few friends on the team; (b) has the respect of none on the team; and (c) looks like he'd rather be downing shooters at Snorkel's?
4. Is it "fine" that on gameday, his decision-making tells him that it is a good idea to play dress up and post the picture to the world?
5. Is it "fine" that he has zero leadership skills, and certainly provides none to the offense?

My only gripe with Miles will be what you typical Rantards bitch about, his stubborness in sticking with Mett (which ironically most of you Rantards would melt down about if, for instance, the QB that currently wears #8 were JJ). Yes, he should be benched, and any sane person would see that EVEN with drops and mistakes on the O-line.

Peyton Manning would not put up good numbers behind our line. Towson gets three sacks? Tells you all you need to know. Backs don't pick up the right guys, oline gets pushed around. He snaps ball and is under pressure. Throw drops on top and there you have it.

With all due respect sir, you might have made the most IDIOTIC posting EVER. But it is a nice comparison to a QB that can actually read the opposing defense and knows all of his team's plays because instead of living by the "throws and hoes" mantra, he actually puts in the effort to be the best QB he can be, which includes throwing with his receivers, studying game film and knowing the playbook in an out. These things can't be done at Ladies Night.

I can guarantee you this -- Manning would be able to pick up blitzes and quickly find hot receivers. Shoot, he's even more mobile than Mett.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I'm not sure it's all on Mett. There's plenty of blame to go around. Starting at the top. Just sayin'.

Mett is prolly the best option LSU has.
We should have seen more of other QBs during 4th of the blowouts, ditto for Mett last year.
I fear we will need another before the season ends.

This is funny. A dumb arse post, followed by a response with explanation of the flaws of the entire offense, and then this. The OL sucks arse right now. The WR are dropping the ball. The playcalling is predictable and terrible.

There's no other good alternatives at QB because this staff does not develop QB talent very well. This has been occurring for the last 5 years. Mett is the default position just like JJ was.

bullshite. he can move. the TD pass that Shep dropped was from Mett moving out of the pocket. the one that Beckham dropped along the sideline vs. UF was out of the pocket.

he extended another play the other day vs. UF on a 3rd down by moving out of the pocket and at least giving his WRs a chance to convert (the one where he was flushed left).

for the most part, he's putting the ball where it needs to be. his WRs need to make plays. period.

And you sir are an idiot. Let me ask it to you like this: you think the Head Coach is going to fire himself? You think he's firing coordinators during the season? You think we are going to get a new O-line and a new batch of WRs? The answer to all of these questions is NO. SO instead of banging our heads into a brick wall, make the one change you can and see what happens. I know its a crazy thought, but what if the line blocks a little better, the RBs run a little harder and the WRs concentrate a little better with a leader behind center? Crazy thought I know. Much easier just to hate on Les.

Yes, I confess, I was wrong. He can move and when he does he is likely to trip over himself or fall goofily 2 yds short of the 1st down marker.
