The future of this defense shined tonight. These guys dominated the 2nd half and had our crowd cheering on the defense in a way I hadn't felt in a looong time.

Tez took over the 4th quarter and was a total game changer. Gillette was also just as disruptive off the edge. Hicks is just a complete load and demands to be double teamed or he will crumble your offensive line.

NASCAR: we've seen it a few times already prior to this game but they've never had a situation to feature it like in this game. We all got to see the results it produces when executed. Tez, Jordan, Smith and Junyah were on the field the entire 4th quarter with a relentless speed rush after the chargers went pass heavy. Rivers knew it was coming and there was nothing he could do about it.

I included Corey White in the topic bc this kid has great cover skills and has made a lot of good plays. Yeah, he is a rookie and fricks up all the time but has also been a starter since day 1. Great learning year for him.

The defense still has a ways to go but it was good to finally see the defense handle this situation tonight.

I had a blast. Congrats Drew. Thanks for the win Saints. I'm going to sleep.

I actually thought Corey White was ok tonight. Probably his best game so far.

I guess he didn't get abused in the 2nd half like he did in the 1st so that's something.

A step in the right direction. Love the effort and fight in the guys tonight. Let's get this thing going.

Sorry I can't include White in any hopeful future discussions.

Get Greer back healthy and then reinsert Patrick back to Nickle where he was slated to start off.

Yea, don't want to be negative because I am so happy we won but what game yall watched? White got worked in coverage and missed quite a few tackles.

Anyone else notice the last two plays our D was out (that MWilson disrupted their backfield) how he was blatantly face masked while bull rushing? It was hideous.

I think White will develop into a good corner. He's getting a baptism by fire sort of thing right now, but I love his size and ability.

White wasn't fantastic, but considering he's a 5th round rookie from Samford, who got thrown in the fire since game 1 (he's our first rookie CB to get this much playing time in a while), he hasn't been all that bad. He had pretty decent coverage on a couple of those completions on him last night, but it was just a nice throw/catch. He's kept his spot over a couple of vets in Murphy (who Spags must have liked to have brought him in from St. Louis), and Mack (who looks like he's going to be on a season long rotation for that spot with Camarillio, depending on what position is healthier).

that pass deflection was insane. I was like? That was Harper?? no shite!

also, when Harper got that interception that was the loudest I have heard the dome all season by far... arguably a top 20 loudest moment ever, the crowd went ape shite!

I loved Martez Wilson's reaction after he got the fumble recovery. He sort of just stayd down there in the fetal position. I even felt the relief from my couch.

Wilson and Gillette coming off the ends in the 2nd half changed that game. Great job by those guys

Unless the injury is still holding him out, I'm still scratching my head as to why Patrick hasn't taken back the nickel role. He looked impressive during the preseason

Yeah, a defense that held its opponent to 119 yards in the 2nd half while forcing two turnovers did not play very well, IMO.

He looked better in the second half because our defensive line actually made a few plays and didn't let rivers sit in the pocket as much. It's been extremely difficult on out DBs this season because we can't generate pressure.

2nd half Defense was maybe the best we've played in over a season. In this modern NFL you're going to have maybe 5 defenses in the entire league that are considered good-great. With how we are built we need to be situationally good....nothing more
