BATON ROUGE -- After suffering its first loss in the regular season since 2010, the LSU football team dropped to No. 9 in the AP Top 25 and No. 8 in the USA Today Coaches' Poll released on Sunday morning.

LSU (5-1, 1-1 SEC) lost to then-No. 10 Florida on Saturday in "The Swamp," 14-6. The Tigers now face undefeated and third-ranked South Carolina (6-0, 4-0 SEC) on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

Our offense stinks, and I blame it on Miles and the coaching staff. That said, I'm still an LSU fan, love LSU, and look forward to the rest of the season. I'm not "marking up" any losses beforehand ... I'm just going to hope the offense gets better and if it doesn't I'm going to hope we win every game 7-6.

If we win out, we'll play 3 of the 7 teams in front of us (USC/Bama/FloridaSECCG). As frustrating as this loss was, we still basically control our own destiny.

USCe is a huge game and will make-or-break LSU's season IMO.... Win and we're right back in the mix ... lose and the season could go south in a hurry.

USC is a HUUUUUGE game for LSU.

I have to say that still being in the Top 10 is being overly generous at this point. Not sure if we'll beat A&M on the road in two weeks, much less MooU at home later on that way we're playing.

The way things were going the last few weeks we would have dropped a couple of spots even if we had won! JK

No but seriously, #8 is awesome compared to where I thought we would be.

I think we still control our own destiny. Win out, and play Florida in the SECCG and then we probably sneak into the NCG. However, given our offense, that appears to be a tall task.

8. LSU (5-1) 961 3

-LSU beats USC/Bama and Florida in the SECCG
-West Virginia/KansasSt/Notre Dame aren't going undefeated
-Oregon will lose a game somewhere along the way (one of the two against USC probably)

Lots of football left to play and LSU is still right in the mix if we can get the offense going. I have my doubts we will be able to do that, but nonetheless it remains to be seen.

I am worried that we just pack it in if we lose to USCe and A&M. There doesn't seem to be any emotion, no fire, no sense of urgency from either our players or coaches. At some point the defense it's going to resent being hung out to dry in every game.

Totally agree. This loss sucks, and our offense obviously sucks, but there's a lot of football left to be played.

USC is the big game....Win and the "ship" is righted and we're back in the mix.

Lose to USC and I could very well see us playing dead the rest of the season.

LSU's 2012 season rests on the outcome of the USC game IMO.

It sucks to once again not go 14-0 but LSU is in a great position all things considered.

Probably, but we shall see.

Things suck today, but hopefully we can get our shite together and find a way to beat USC at home.

I think he's referring more to our position in which we basically still control our own destiny.

Obviously if we play the way we have it won't matter because we won't win them all, but nonetheless we're in good position that if we by some miracle did win out we have everything still to play for.

Aside from Jan 9th. I havent seen a team manhandle an LSU team like FLA did since like 2008. I mean they slapped LSU around.

IF LSU beat # 3 USCe next weekend at home, we are right back in the mix! All hope is not lost like some on here beleive. Now the question is will any offense show up at all?
