What do you folks think?

I kinda want to see it since it has Top Gun in it. Surely it will be funny because of him. Kinda sounds like a chick flick though.

Looks like Glee, the movie. And I don't like Glee, so I don't think I'll go see this one.

It was filmed around BR/LSU, but that's not enough for me to go see it.

That fat chick in it seemed pretty funny. I'll probably watch it when it hits basic cable.

IDK. I saw Elizabeth Banks interiewed Sunday morning and she talked about it. It seems like it is a Best in Show type of deal. Not a mockumentary, but just following people in the world of competetive acapella singing.

Director Jason Moore and writer Kay Cannon are all over the place as the movie leans towards being a hilarious, over-the-top Christopher Guest mockumentary-style film like This Is Spinal Tap, Best In Show or Waiting for Guffman, but Moore and Cannon aren't willing to go far enough and commit enough to that style.

looks like they were trying to go in that direction

A couple of friends of mine worked on it and went to the free screening at the Union Theater.

They both said it was actually a good movie and not some chick flick type movie that it looks like. I'm not sure if they are right or if they are just biased.

I'll watch it on DVD, but only because I spent a couple of days working on one of the sets.

Took preggars to see this Friday night. While I have to admit that I probably spent more time watching the background to see LSU instead of paying attention to the actual story, it wasn't bad. The music was good and there were some legitimately funny parts.

I saw it on Friday & I enjoyed it. Plus I was able to tell the parts of LSU campus where they filmed.

I went in with no idea this was filmed at LSU. I kept seeing some buildings (the greek theater is when I really started thinking it was there) and thinking it looked like LSU. I didn't know for sure until they showed Kendrick and the dude in the quad talking about movies.

It is the best reviewed film shot in Baton Rouge since Sex, Lies .... NPR, Time, SF Chronicle all had really positive things to say.

I worked on it and am biased a bit, but it is really well done. I worked an a lot of shitty movies and this isn't one of them

So you pay money not to watch a movie but to instead stare at the background of places you could walk to and stare at in real life? What am I missing here?

Same here. I saw both movies this weekend and thought Pitch Perfect blew Taken 2 out of the water. Not just because Taken 2 was a terrible movie, but Pitch Perfect was really funny and entertaining.
