That seriously looks like shite. I would consider cutting the entire tree down now. That looks bad man.

i know. and it's actually not the worst one on my road. there's one that has just one branch.

I think i'm going to either cut it down and start over with two small oaks i have on the side of the house or just trim the crap out of it and let is bush out from there...

and also to add insult to injury, they left the branches. it took a few weeks for them to come pick them up after gustave and i had some awesome dead spots in my yard...

They have been going through the club doing the same. Raping trees and leaving the remnants on the street.

You should car an aborist, they can trim the tree so that it still grows well and looks decent.

It's a very old tree, would take almost a lifetime to get one that big.

incorrect. I'm not bitching that they trimmed it, just that they slaughtered it. They trimmed it after gustave and while it was an "L", there was some mass in the front at least. Since gustave, a few sprouts grew up from that area but were still below the middle power lines. when i saw the trucks yesterday and realized they were coming, i figured they wouldn't do more than trim down those sprouts because it had been done before.

Give it a couple years. You'll never know they trimmed it. Trees grow into sunny spots.
