Plaquemines Parish update

Nungesser just said on WVUE that waves are splashing over the Mississippi River levee in Empire and Buras. Per the Council Members for those towns.
Billy said he saw it himself at the Pointe La Hache ferry 2 feet below the top of the river levee

Thank god the river was at one of its lowest points in history. Can you imagine if it was at normal height? Holy shite

Not to say they aren't gonna have some problems but I would say that if you want attention and you want money (state/federal) to flow into the parish, you make it sound as bad as possible.

Also the further south you go, the levees are less high because there is so much less to protect down there.

At 7:15 water was up to the base of levee by the belle chasse ferry

Every storm that comes through, tropical storm, hurricane etc. cause low land flooding and levee overtopping around Mytrle Grove, Port Sulpher, etc.. The levee system is not extremely high in that area.

This is not unexpected at all.
