TWC just reported that the roof blew off of the parish jail and Billy Nungesser's house.

Not sure if they are talking about a minor breach or major failure.

Inside the flood wall? As long as he is in protected waters it's just a high wind event do far. Hitting 80s in Venice as I type.

I have no clue if levees have been topped or not but I can tell you what our USGS gages are showing.

The river at Belle Chasse just downstream of the ferry is showing a 10 foot surge at 9:45 and the river was actually flowing upstream about 2 hours ago. See the link.

Also the water in Myrtle Grove is actually falling This gage is about a 10 minute boat ride from the Myrtle Grove marina.

I haven't really heard any detals, but my uncle is in Port Sulphur and last time I talked to him, he said that it was getting bad down there.

At what point do officials say...enough is enough, you are on your own. Mandatory Evac = No Rescue.

The wind and rain have died down a good bit now, you can actually see about 1000 yards now.

I would assume the breached levee is the pointe celeste levee. However from what I have read I see no confirmation of this anyone know?

Wonder how much repair/rebuild we will have to do on the camp...
