What's the chances of Shep being primary kickoff returner?

Not sure he could take the wallops, but I have been wondering why they haven't used him on returns in some way.

I wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot.

It's OBJ, Turner, and TM7 per poster that was at spring practices.

I think he would be an absolutely electric returner...only problem is that he doesn't have the best hands...he would muff one every once in a while and that will get you in Les' doghouse with quickness...

Agree, I would worry about him fumbling and he doesn't have the top end speed. He has great acceleration, and nice shake, but he's not the guy to return kicks.

OBJ is the guy. If we dont redshirt Kavahra Holmes I would like to see him get back there and return some.

I'd like to see it. I'm still hanging on to hope that Rs will have a great year.

"Primary" kick returner --- 0.00% chance.

Why? Too "fragile" and likely to fumble when hit.

He is one of those guys that "is great in space" --- kickoff returns is not "in space" it's more like in chaos or traffic ... or both. A tough upfield runner with and eye for the "gab" is what you need --- and that's just not RS - simple as that.

no chance, and fumbles are the reason. Shep fumbled a couple times very early his freshman year and I think that put him behind the 8-ball with Miles. And he doesn't have great hands. As others have said, he's a great athlete, but unfortunately not a good football player at this level.

Well if he plays like he does on NCAA 2013, he will do just fine.

Maybe even more than every once and a while - the guy's not big enough to take the kind of beating he would have to take. And that's why he won't likely be the primary kickoff returner.

And it should stay this way.

Not to call the guy weak or anything, but you need to be preety tough to return kicks. He usually guys down with first contact so there's really no way you could put him back there. I wish they couldve tryed Magee to give him a few more snaps and because he's pretty strong for his size.

if they're gonna try any of the RBs back there, let it be Ford.
