I skipped last year's version, I've been playing NCAA 11 for two years.

I had planned on getting NCAA 13 later today, but is it worth getting? I've been reading some pretty bad things about it. Is it worth an upgrade from NCAA 11?

from what I've read on here, it's the worst game ever.

Played a little last night, you can get tackled by someone 5 yards away they hyper-glitch to you like a magnet even when you have the angle. Passing is a bit tougher, you have to hit your man when his icon is lit up. In man defense the corners stick to wr's like glue making the slants a bit tougher than most years. It looks much better though (I was still on 2011 as well) animations are much better.

Not to jam on it any more than it has been, but after hearing all the issues this game has, it doesn't sound like an "installation" from an established franchise.

Good on you, EA.

I would say it's worth buying! I loved 2011, absolutely hated 2012, and 2013 is the best of the three! It still has issues, what game doesn't? but they improved so many things on this game... worth the money!

Yes, check out pastapadre.com for a solid and fair review of it.

I'm prolly gonna get hammered for saying it but oh well, it's 12 with better passing and better animations. D feels worse to me, dynasty with the exception of scouting feels the same.

Edit: Oh and the blocking technique/scheme is garbage. Mingo and Monty should be able to speed move the shite out of OTs, not get sucked into a block as they pass the tackles.
Garbage.

I only played 2 games last night. One was with the girlfriend so I can't really include it in a review

I played LSU vs. Arkansas in my 2nd game. Defense is a little tricky but I felt like the DL was more effective than in 2012. My DTs actually get good penetration and get to the QB at a realistic rate now. Secondary was kind of iffy.

Offensively I was pleased. WRs did good...no crazy catches or retarded drops. I was able to hit my RBs in the flat in stride (no pass to the back of the helmet). The running game wasn't terrible. Pretty realistic play there.

I've taken NCAA for what it is. Is it a poorly made game with absolutely 0 effort put in to making it awesome? Yes, absolutely.

Is it the only fricking college football game we have? Yes. It never changes but if you just pop it in, start a dynasty (when the good rosters come out), and just play it - it isn't that terrible.

Don't read operation sports or too many threads on it here because then you'll start looking for the glitches. Plus I got it for $44.99 so that makes me feel a tad better.

If you like sim college football, you'll enjoy it. That simple. It has some freezing issues now, but expect that to be patched soon. Polar doesn't even own the game, so I'd take his review with a grain of salt. When it comes down to it, people on here want a perfect game, which no game really is. Their whining seems to be directly correlated with how much they suck at the game. I think it's a mostly solid game, and a steal for the $45 I paid, especially with the $13.50 I got on trade in of 2012. I think you'd be happy with it. Also, recruiting in dynasty mode has been pretty much overhauled.

I used to be less critical of NCAA by EA until I started playing The Show.

This. Recruiting is super different and much better, imo.

Only complaint from is that I feel the Defensive Ends are never able to get the QB. DTs get there easy, but struggling to get sacks.
